Unhandled exception: Safe handle has been closed - error scanning MP3's

I have upgraded to the newest Server Version 3.0.5607.2 and have decided to add my Music back to my Library. Since it would cause my CPU to spike when it finished scanning my Library and would take 5-10 minutes for it to come back down and my Library would not show till then.  Well after the update and after I added the music, the library started to be scanned and it would stop around 60-68%, with a slight CPU flux and throw out the error--  Unhandled exception: Process was not started by this object, so requested information cannot be determined.  I would have to ok it and EMBY would close and I would restart and the cycle would repeat.  I removed the music library again and all works perfectly.

Well that is odd, thanks. It will be resolved for the next release. We'll see if this is widespread and requires an immediate release, although it wasn't reported from the beta group.

@@Mustang Dave - I was getting the same error after adding my music library back in. After updating to dev Version 3.0.5609.20720, the error went away and I can fully scan my music library. Not only that, but in Emby Classsic, I switched back to Legacy mode (folders) and everything populates and works!!

I was following the high cpu usage post here: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/20474-high-cpu-usage-when-idle/

@@Luke put out a dev fix that fixed more than that! :)

Hello everyone,

I just installed 3.0.5607.2 and re-added my MP3 library. I can's seem to get a full scan of my library. It errors out with: Unhandled exception: Safe handle has been closed.

Any ideas or help? Should I install an older version or maybe the beta?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry for multiple posts!

Also, I am running the Emby Server on a 32 bit version of Windows 7.

I'm also getting this error when I add in my music library, Win7 64bit. If I remove my music all is good. How do I update to the dev version, as there are reports of that solving the problem? I'm on 3.0.5607.2 currently.

Just to try it, I now have installed the EMBY server beta and tried to add my MP3 collection again. I receieved this error:

"Unhandled exception: No process is associated with this object."

Library scanning has stopped at 62.5%

Log attached.

Any help or ideas regarding this?

Well, just got another error and crash:

"Unhandled exception: Process was not started by this object, so requested information cannot be determined."

MP3 library scanning won't continue. Once I close the error Emby crashes. This error seems to only pop up when Emby is trying to scan my full MP3 library. It can never fully scan it due to the error.

Logs attached.

Help please?

I would remove your Music library and then add it one section (Artist perhaps) at a time and scan.

If when you find the scan fail, then it will be something that you've just added.

Hi Luke,

Sorry, how do I find the "dev branch" to download? Sorry for the rookie question...

EmbyTV is throwing an error. Report it to the developer and/or remove it for now
