allxsan 5 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Hello, maybe this happen only here. versions after the 4.9.4.1-beta (OS5) does not work here. I can install/reinstall every version on every previous (newer of older, so eg. 4.9.4.1-beta on 4.9.3, but also 4.9.3 on 4.10xx or 4.9.4.1-beta ) and Emby server always works but all the versions starting from 4.10.xxx are unable to start
alucryd 344 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 @allxsanJust pushed an updated 4.10.0.2 package to GitHub, it resolves the startup issue. 1

I've tried with the yesterday updated version but without success. Just downloaded the new one, but can't try at this moment -- update: now I must go, but the server is started and I can view "loading". Thanks Edited February 6 by allxsan small add 1
allxsan 5 Posted August 1 Author Posted August 1 Hello, I'm here again after some time, because the job completely absorbed me But since yesterday I've been on vacation and when I return I'll finally have two helpers, so I'm sure I'll have more time to dedicate to my things too I rarely updated EMBY SERVER after 4.10.02, but I think some later versions worked as well. At some point it must have stopped working. I wouldn't boot even though it seemed to boot regularly, but never had time again, I gave up. Unfortunately the 4.10.0.2 is no more on my hdd, but at the end I also tried to completely remove EMBY server and reinstalled it Tried unsuccessfully many many versions, but the configuration doesn't appear Anyway this is very strange.. since I have an old and "dead" development version of PORTAINER... ported to WD EX2 and stopped almost immediately, but the configuration page opens and works perfectly

Hi, I’m a little late in reading this. 1) I thought I’d started writing but hadn’t sent it yet, so I could run some more tests first… But it turns out I had sent it. Sorry about that. 2) I’ve tried almost every version still available on GitHub. No luck (The requested URL was not found on this server.) latest version tried is: emby-server-western_digital_ex2_ultra_os5_4.10.0.27_arm.bin 3) I tried uninstalling it and installing several other versions from scratch. No luck (The requested URL was not found on this server.) It seems that the server can’t start up (but could it be a configuration file left in some folder? Ultimately, it used to work; ever since it stopped—I don’t remember which version it was—nothing has worked anymore.) But everything else I try to install works. I also tried Plex, and everything works Edited August 24 by allxsan
allxsan 5 Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 Since no one is responding, probably no one has an answer. But at this point: how can I completely remove any Emby configuration files that might have been left on the filesystem, even after uninstalling it from the WD interface (OS5 version)? I don't want to be forced to format everything just to see if this is the problem or not. Thanks
Neminem 1972 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Click the 3 dots on your server dashboard. Then click "view server info" That should show where its installed. In my case these are mapped volumes in docker.
Luke 43461 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 @sa2000is this the same model that you have for testing?

allxsan 5 Posted October 8 Author Posted October 8 Hello, I'd like to avoid having to format everything and start from scratch just to get EMBY working again. It had been working more or less perfectly for a few years (except starting with a certain beta version, an issue that was later resolved after I posted about it here). But suddenly it stopped working again and was nothing I could do (not even uninstalling and reinstalling EMBY several times, even though that meant losing my configuration). Last time, just like now, as you can see from the image in the WD web interface, the EMBY icon is gone (when it was working, the icon was there). Unlike in the past, nothing changes now even if I remove EMBY to install any old version that used to work! Perhaps the most frustrating thing is that every other feature of the WD works perfectly fine. If I install Plex, everything works, and I can use all the folders and media I had in EMBY without any problems re
sa2000 872 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 @allxsan Do you have ssh enabled on the WD NAS ? If not, could you enable it and get some files out See How to access WD My Cloud using ssh (secure shell) Once it is enabled you can use PuTTY or might be easier using WinSCP to download these files The files I want which you can send me zipped by Private Message are: /tmp/embyserver.log /var/log/kern.log /var/log/kern.log.1 /var/log/kern.log.2.gz /var/log/kern.log.3.gz Also download this whole directory /mnt/HD/HD_a2/emby/logs and zip the downloaded files and include in your private message Thanks 1

Luckily I also have a UGREEN NAS based on Intel CPU and I temporarily solved it to be able to use some recent media, but the old WD was almost entirely dedicated to EMBY and everything else works perfectly thanks again
sa2000 872 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 50 minutes ago, allxsan said: "mv: can't rename '/mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog/_install/embyserver': Directory not empty" This suggests there was a problem with an install / uninstall If you can use PuTTy, i would like detailed directory listings using "ls -ail" to see date/times and what files/folders are there So first ls -ail /tmp/emby* and then run these commands - they will output to 2 files in the Public share on the WD NAS find /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog/_install/embyserver -exec ls -aild {} + > /shares/Public/install_embyserver_list.txt find /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog/embyserver -exec ls -aild {} + > /shares/Public/embyserver_list.txt Please send me the 2 text files and the screen output from the ls command Thanks The emby server log shows last run was on 1st August on Emby Server 4.10.0.17

sa2000 872 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Thanks - please send me this file /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog/embyserver/apkg.xml and then delete the file And download the 4.11.0.6 beta from https://emby.media/western-digital-server.html and manual install it and see if it launches and lets see what happens If there are issues, let me have the /tmp/embyserver.log file and the list directories

Maybe I'm talking nonsense, but it seems like for some reason the installation fails, or only a few files are installed, but the WD interface says everything worked fine. Unfortunately, I don't remember which beta version I installed at the end of July, but Emby stopped working; in fact, the EMBY icon disappeared from the WD interface and never reappeared.
allxsan 5 Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 Maybe the strangest thing is the fact : after the end of July and the beginning of August and the upgrade to a new beta, even old versions that were working fine before no longer worked.
sa2000 872 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I can see a difference in package names between August 1 and now. I will discuss with the development team what is in the new /tmp/embyserver.log
