Do we have an update as I believe the test version has expired now.

I have had no issues, other than we need support for more systems of cours 🙃

I can send you a new copy in PM. I am still waiting to hear back from the Emby team on letting me publish it however. Let me ping them.

I see the beta is done and over. and when I go to play a game it says that I need to download it from the catalog. But its not showing up in the catalog.  Any way to get a download that we now can use?

@digitalironyAny update on this getting in the store as we are getting close to those 30 days.... :D

This is so sweet. Thank you very much. I've only begun playing around with it but it seems to tick all the boxes for my user base of less tech-savy people that would struggle to setup something themselves.

This is now being published to the emby plugin catalog. You can find the 'official' release there, without any of the beta timers. TBH this is my first emby plugin, and I am not entirely sure how long it will take to actually show up once I have published it. But it is on the way.

I would recommend uninstalling the beta version from this thread before installing the published version.

@digitalirony

I have some issues below, maybe my setup?

3do - Does not show up at all. I have tried .iso, .chd do they need to be in a different format?

Example below of roms not loading images, the games do work.

image.png.c5d4ce0469259489fd327f1c6322ecd5.png

Then one of the above games

image.png.e5077053f3890a60340114bbbb192592.png

Atari 2600, Jaguar, Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket, NES, PlayStation, Game Gear, Pc-Engine all have the same issue.

If you need any logs, or a sample rom, let me know

Two things, both fixed in 1.0.1.1 (attached):

3DO: that one's on me - it wasn't actually wired up yet, so nothing you did was wrong. It's in
now. 3DO needs a BIOS though: in ROMote settings hit "Set up BIOS folders", drop a 3DO BIOS
(panafz1.bin / panafz10.bin / goldstar.bin) into the 3DO folder it makes, and the games will
boot. .chd or .iso in a "3DO" folder both work.

Missing box art: good catch flagging it broadly. When you moved from the beta build to the
official one, the library re-processed, and a change I'd made to speed up big scans accidentally
stopped art-less games from ever retrying their images - so anything whose art hiccuped in that
pass got stuck without a cover (the text/ratings stayed because those are stored separately).
1.0.1.1 makes art self-heal: update, run a Scan Library Files, and the covers should come back.

If any are still blank after that, it's likely the "save artwork into media folders" library
setting writing to a read-only ROM folder - let me know and I'll point you at the fix.

I said attached, but really I will update it in the emby portal.

Hello,

First of all, I wanted to thank you for the plugin and your work.

I installed your plugin and see the €5 price tag, but I don't know where to make the payment—though the plugin installed anyway.

I proceeded to create a "Rom" folder containing a "Super Nintendo" subfolder, added an `.sfc` file, and set up a game library pointing to the "Rom" folder.

It successfully detects the game, but it doesn't place it under the Super Nintendo console, and no box art is syncing.

When I try to launch the game by clicking "Play Game," it doesn't work; I get the error: `Unknown game platform for item 34ae0315-7821-eff7-93a6-f8246a49c6f7`.

I am running Synology DSM 6 and Emby version 4.11.0.7 beta.

Thanks for your help.

@digitalirony On the latest version I am having issues

Under my game library, folders I see

But on the systems page it only shows the below

When I click on this the games show, but no images, I do get meta data, all other emulators show no information

Below is all I can see in the log regarding romote.

The play button they load, maybe something needs updating?

as a side note all my Bios files are correct

Hopefully this helps and makes sense

As a side note, only the PlayStation roms load. I have also moved all the roms to a new folder, removed and readded the plugin/library, with a metadata cleanup, rescan and reboot before re adding it, but it stays the same.

From the look of it, the cores look to not be loading so can not see the roms/emultor maybe?

I don’t have any PlayStation ROMs, but I can confirm that none of the ROMs will launch because the platform isn’t being recognized.
Emby places all of my games—including those for the Mega Drive, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64—under the "Other" category within the "Play Games" tab in the Emby settings.

Thanks for the detailed reports and logs — that was exactly what I needed. I tracked it down: the latest Emby 4.11 beta changed how it loads game files, so ROMote wasn’t getting the hook it used to use to tag each game with its console. That’s why everything landed under “Other,” had no artwork, and gave the “Unknown game platform” error when launching. Disc-based systems slipped through for some of you only because those entries were tagged by an earlier version.

I’ve pushed 1.0.1.3 which fixes this (it now tags games through a path that still works on 4.11). After you update: open your Games library, run Scan / Refresh Metadata, and the already-imported games will pick up their console, artwork, and working launch link. No need to remove and re-add anything. Let me know if any system still shows under “Other” after a scan.

As for the payment, I believe after 14 days it will prompt you and you can do so after the trial is over.

3do now shows up and pulls images/metadata. but when it loads the rom, I get the below screen

image.thumb.png.8e1c27db5c85dfe0bb437cfc3408aec1.png

looks like it is not loading the bios, even though it is in the folder and being picked up in the settings, maybe you need to add support for the al the various 3do bios files, below?

panafz1.bin    Panasonic FZ-1
panafz10.bin    Panasonic FZ-10
panafz10-patched.bin    Panasonic FZ-10 [RSA Patch]
panafz10e-anvil.bin    Panasonic FZ-10-E [Anvil]
panafz10e-anvil-patched.bin    Panasonic FZ-10-E [Anvil RSA Patch]
goldstar.bin    Goldstar GDO-101M
sanyotry.bin    Sanyo IMP-21J TRY
3do_arcade_saot.bin    Shootout At Old Tucson    8
panafz1-kanji.bin    Panasonic FZ-1 Kanji ROM
panafz10ja-anvil-kanji.bin    Panasonic FZ-10JA Kanji ROM
panafz1j-kanji.bin    Panasonic FZ-1J Kanji ROM

Also my roms are all cue/bin extension, I also tried it with a .chd with the same issue

I think the issue is that the emulator is not loading bios files, as I tried it with a colovision and get the message no bios file?

yes you should have the emulator like above, then the roms when you click on the icon.

example below

image.png.a59a153a22ac03f80c2847cb5506caf4.png

then once you click it, it should show any roms you have

So other than the issue with the Bios, i have a folder that does not show any images or metadata, this is my Arcade/mame folder, it contains a mame-2003 set of games

SO I have

d:\emulation\roms\arcade\
19xx.zip
1943.zip

as an example they load no issue and play, but of course no information is shown, should these be in a different folder, or each game needs to be extracted to a folder?

Example

\arcade\19xx\**.bin
\arcade\1943\**.bin

Further will support be added for other rom sets

Dreamcast
psp

As examples?

Thanks for sticking with this and for the detailed reports. They pointed at three separate problems, all fixed in 1.0.1.4:

BIOS (3DO, ColecoVision): the emulator was receiving your BIOS file under the wrong name, so it never found it, even though ROMote’s settings showed it as present. BIOS files now reach the emulator under the exact names each core expects. All the standard 3DO files work, including the -patched versions. In ROMote Settings, “Set up BIOS folders” now lists which files it found in each folder.

cue/bin games: only the .cue was being sent, not the .bin tracks it points to, which is why you landed on the RetroArch menu. Discs now load with all their tracks. Multi-track dumps also no longer show extra entries for the individual tracks.

“Other” on the Play Games page: fixed. Your Systems view was already correct.

Arcade: keep the romsets zipped exactly as you have them, and don’t extract them. 1.0.1.4 looks them up by romset name, so they’ll get their real titles, artwork and descriptions after a scan.

Dreamcast / PSP: the emulator ROMote uses doesn’t support Dreamcast, so that isn’t possible right now. It does have a PSP core, but it needs extra browser setup I’m still looking into, so no promises yet.

After updating, run a library scan. If anything still misbehaves, the Emby log lines that mention ROMote are the most useful thing to send.
