adrianwi 286 Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Anyone having problems upgrading from 4.9.3.0 to 4.9.5.0 on FreeBSD 13 (TrueNAS Core)? I tried a few weeks ago when I first saw the update message but emby wouldn't start after updating, so I rolled back and thought i'd just leave it. Tried again tonight and the same problem, but switching back to 3 works fine. Nothing in the server log files to even show it's trying to start 4.9.5.0, but will PM one anyway.
adrianwi 286 Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 No because I rolled back to 4.9.3.0, but 4.9.5.0 doesn't work for me on FreeBSD13 (TrueNAS Core 13.3 U1.2)
adrianwi 286 Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 I have a holiday to look forward to at the weekend, but will have another go when I get back. 1
Baenwort 124 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I"m able to run 4.9.5.0 on a TrueNAS 13.3U1.2 server. Are you still having troubles? 1
adrianwi 286 Posted August 18 Author Posted August 18 I'd not tried since getting back from holiday, but I've just had another go and updating using pkg update && pkg upgrade and then updating emby with pkg add -f https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases/download/4.9.5.0/emby-server-freebsd13_4.9.5.0_amd64.pkg runs but emby won't start as a service afterwards. Nothing in the emby log files as it's just failing to start. Rolled back to 4.9.3.0 which is working fine 1
Baenwort 124 Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Does it fail when you manually do the service emby-server start? I don't have any of my jail services set to Autostart as I like to manually launch them.
adrianwi 286 Posted August 24 Author Posted August 24 Yes, it fails to autostart and when I try manually
adrianwi 286 Posted Monday at 08:26 PM Author Posted Monday at 08:26 PM No change. emby-server won't come back up after upgrading to 4.9.5.0 from 4.9.3.0.
Luke 43063 Posted Tuesday at 06:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:06 PM OK we're actually trying to roll out a new stable today so please keep us posted on whether that resolves the issue for you. Thanks.
alucryd 340 Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM @adrianwiHave you tried upgrading your jail? iocage upgrade <jail_name> Works fine on vanilla FreeBSD 13.5 here. Going to try TrueNAS when I get home.
adrianwi 286 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago The jail is running 13.5, and all packages are up to date. It works fine on 4.9.3.0. Is there some new dependency?
alucryd 340 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Trying to run it manually will tell you if you're missing sth. In doubt, you can try our dep install command here, it should be exhaustive: https://emby.media/freebsd-server.html Unfortunately I can't even install a 13.5 jail on my TrueNAS Core VM because it's EOL, so I can't reproduce.
adrianwi 286 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Not sure what you mean by 'run it manually', but I ran the pkg install < dependencies> from the URL, and it installed dotnet8-8.0.20, but when I checked, dotnet-9.0.14 was already installed, so I'm not sure what's going on there. Anyway, updating to 4.9.5.0 or 4.10.0.40 fails to start the emby-server service again. It does appear to be running for a few seconds, but then stops, and it's not writing anything to the embyserver.txt file Perhaps my emby journey on TrueNAS comes to an end at 4.9.3.0, which is still working just fine. I need to consider moving away from TrueNAS Core but it's too big and scary at the minute and everything I'm running is still working .
Luke 43063 Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago Quote dotnet-9.0.14 was already installed we have not tested dotnet 9 so just be aware of that.
