robsen 7 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Since I enjoy experimenting with the 3 major well-known media servers, I like to switch back and forth between all 3 from time to time. A while ago I stopped using Emby because I ran into the following problem. Out of nowhere it stopped updating my library. I'm fairly certain this happened after a server update, though I can no longer say which version it updated from or to. I tried deleting the library and adding it again. However, it only recognizes the C drive. I have 2 folders mapped as network drives from my NAS in Windows Explorer — R = Movies, S = Series. These are not displayed in the folder overview when adding a new library. It also doesn't recognize the NAS IP address. Via Explorer, Plex, Jellyfin, etc. I can access it without any issues. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
robsen 7 Posted Saturday at 04:09 PM Author Posted Saturday at 04:09 PM Okay, after 2 days I just continued testing. Now the folders are being displayed again (for whatever reason) as soon as I create a new library. However, the media search doesn't work. As soon as I click on it, the bar 'searching' appears very briefly and that's it.
Luke 42522 Posted Saturday at 05:55 PM Posted Saturday at 05:55 PM HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
robsen 7 Posted Sunday at 11:27 AM Author Posted Sunday at 11:27 AM Libary is added. See the Screenshot: For Reference: When I click, the progress bar appears briefly to indicate that it's scanning the library, and then nothing happens
Luke 42522 Posted Sunday at 08:16 PM Posted Sunday at 08:16 PM Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
robsen 7 Posted Monday at 06:48 PM Author Posted Monday at 06:48 PM Oh, sorry. I thought I'd attached it. embyserver.txt
Luke 42522 Posted Tuesday at 04:32 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:32 AM HI, instead of adding the R drive, is there a movies subfolder you can add instead?
robsen 7 Posted Tuesday at 04:15 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:15 PM Yes, that seems to be working. But the question is, why did it work before, and why did this happen after an update (as I said, I’m not sure which Emby Server update it was)? Is there any way you guys can fix this?
Luke 42522 Posted Tuesday at 05:43 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:43 PM HI, we don't recommend adding entire drives, but yes we will do some testing on it. Thanks.
robsen 7 Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Previously, there was a “Movies” and “Series” folder on the root of the NAS. I mapped the network drive directly to these folders in Windows Explorer. For example: \\192.168.0.123\movies Now I've created a “media” folder on the root of the NAS. The ‘Movies’ and “Series” folders are both inside this folder now In Windows Explorer, I have now linked R:\ directly to the \media\movies folder. For example: \\192.168.0.123\media\movies Now Emby recognizes everything. Thank you very much for the help/tip 1
robsen 7 Posted Tuesday at 06:36 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:36 PM Sorry, little typo in my last post. the correct way is: In Windows Explorer, I have now linked R:\ directly to the \media folder. For example: \\192.168.0.123\media\ 1
robsen 7 Posted Wednesday at 11:39 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:39 AM Okay. I have to take back what I said. It doesn't work after all. As soon as I add the “Movies” folder and then click “Scan Library,” nothing happens. As mentioned above, the folder is set to R:\Movies.
