brucesnelgrove 1 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I attempted to update from 4.9.3 to 4.9.5. Downloaded from Emby website. Followed onscreen instructions. Failed to Update, still at 4.9.3. Additionally, my playlist folder is intact, but my playlist are not visible. The Playlist .m3u files are still present with correct permissions. Playlists just don't show up on Home screen. Attached is the log file Thanks in Advance Bruce embyserver.txt
arrbee99 1841 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Something to do with this admin thing ? might not be, just something I came across and thought I'd mention.
brucesnelgrove 1 Posted Saturday at 04:01 PM Author Posted Saturday at 04:01 PM This what happened after updating to 4.9.5. Ignore image 2. Firstly, Image 1 shows that the update did not take, remaining at 4.9.3. Secondly, and most importantly, Image 3 is a screenshot of my playlists afte the attempted update. Notice, there are no playlists. There used to be 50. All lot of work in those. The playlist files are still intact and where they are supposed to be. And I still run into the play errors in image 4. This seems to be limited to mp3 files. I don't run into any problems with .mp4 or .mkv files embyserver-2.txt
brucesnelgrove 1 Posted Tuesday at 01:04 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 01:04 PM I ran into a similiar problem. I tried to upgrade from Emby directly. Running TOS 6.x and trying to update from Emby 4.9.3 to 4.9.5. Not only did it fail solidly, it also damaged my Playlists. They no longer are visible. Additionally Emby can no longer create Playlists, and it is still 4.9.3. Take from this what you will. Proceed carefully if you have Plalists you want to preserve.
Luke 42523 Posted Tuesday at 05:42 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:42 PM Hi, are you sure you're actually on 4.9.5? Can you try rebooting the machine?
brucesnelgrove 1 Posted 54 minutes ago Author Posted 54 minutes ago I have rebooted twice. Still lists 4.9.3 as current rev. and also telling me 4.9.5 is available Before I updated I noticed 2 folders before my playlists disappeared. One said "Playlists" and the other "userplaylists". I noticed "userplaylists"was empty and "PLaylists" was occupied with the playlists I created. After my attempted upgrade and losing 50 playlists, I went back in and copied the ".m3u" files to "userplaylists" and my playlists returned, and they play. I am still running into problems with iOS not connecting. As a result, I have purchased dedicated music streaming software for my phone that allows me to stream and take my playlists with me. It appears the 4.9.5 leaves the media files alone, but destroys or damages "user created" data.
