sa2000 767 Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM Great - now that we know it is genre cleaner then i can follow this up and troubleshoot It may be an official plugin but not one that comes pre-installed with emby server 1
sa2000 767 Posted Tuesday at 05:19 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:19 PM It says: Quote Genre Cleaner allows you to define exactly what genres appear in the metadata for items in your collection. You can allow only certain ones and map more obscure genres to more general ones. Take control of your metadata with GenreCleaner. Please let me have your configuration There is a file that would be here /metas/emby/plugins/configurations/GenreCleaner.xml could I have a copy of it
sa2000 767 Posted Tuesday at 05:20 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:20 PM After you get me this, you can try adding the 2 genres that got removed to the genre cleaner coniguration and see if adding them would allow the genres to stay
sa2000 767 Posted Tuesday at 05:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:28 PM These are all the genres that were removed and probably need to be configured in Genre Cleaner Aventure Comédie Drame Familial Fantastique Guerre Histoire Horreur Musique Mystère Science-Fiction Téléfilm I do not know at this point how Genre Cleaner copes with different language variations for genres and if it only works with English
sa2000 767 Posted Tuesday at 05:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:28 PM please let me have the configuration file before you make any changes

When I have time in next few days I'll reinstall it and map specifically the missing genre you listed and will let you know the result Thanks a lot for all the investigations GenreCleaner.xml 1

The issue is clear now. Looking at Movies genres configuration in Genre Cleaner, you only have English name genres defined and a couple of mappings from French Initial screen and looking at the Movies configuration, you have these defined: To continue with English named Genres, you need to add these French genres that showed as removed and map them to the existing genres - only Fantastique does not appear to have an existing English name genre
sa2000 767 Posted Wednesday at 08:58 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:58 AM (edited) A thought - if you need to switch to French genres - you would need to start with a french set. So I presume that would need uninstalling the plugin, ensuring the GenreCleaner.xml configuration file is removed, refreshing all metadata for the library, and then installing the plugin and initializing it with the intial genres and then start work on mappings to rationalize Edited Wednesday at 03:07 PM by sa2000

Emby is configured to use an external domain that points at public IP of server and it has an SSL certificate (Secure connection mode is enforced). The anonymization of the public IP address when it is actually seen as the local IP Address has been discussed with the development team and the decision is that there will be no change as Local IP Addresses are not anonymized. We have added a note on the Log Files support document to mention this. Edited Saturday at 10:26 AM by sa2000
