podonnell 47 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 This may be due to me updating my LG to a newer LG OS, as I believe the LG screensaver is kicking in faster now. However, I think I am seeing this happen on my NVIDIA Shield as well -- basically, I haven't seen the Emby screensaver itself in quite a while. Was there any changes there? Or perhaps a setting I may have turned off? Or, is there any way to manually kick off the screensaver? This is the one that cycles through the backdrops for your titles. I believe it used to come up when I paused a video for about 5 minutes, or if I left the home screen up. Thanks.
Luke 42077 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Hi, the Emby screensaver has never been included in our LG app. They rejected the app over that a long time ago, although we could probably try to get it in again.

Thanks for the info. Most likely I used to see it in my Shield then, but I think my LG TV update is just throwing up the built-in screensaver much faster due to no motion on the screen. Is there any way I can cause the screensaver to start on my end sooner?

I'm seeing my LG TV one that basically turns off the display when there's inactivity. I think they shortened the time that it kicks in. I'd love to get the Emby screensaver / slideshow up again, but I think the time that takes to kick in is longer than my TV's timeout. Was hoping I could manually start that slideshow / screensaver within Emby.
Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 29 Solution Posted January 29 Are you positive it's from the LG and not the Shield? Either way, are there settings to control it?

Silly I should have thought to look for this -- but you're right. There was a setting, it seems like that just got reset to 3 minutes after the LG OS upgrade. I moved it to 10m. That should allow the Emby screensaver to kick in before the screen goes idle. 1
podonnell 47 Posted Tuesday at 11:59 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:59 PM So an update on this, I'm still not seeing the screensaver even with my TV screensaver set higher. Is there a specific criteria for where/when it might start? I had a movie paused for 10+ minutes, I believe it used to appear when a title was paused, but this was at least a year ago.
