Trekdriver3 12 Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 Emby seems to be working on all my televisions, the problem is on my p.c. Emby seems to load ok, but the above error is what I get when I click on ANY movie or t.v. show. I can't get into any of my settings, I cant start at all from emby connect. I have checked firewall, seems fine. Even tried turning off Defender, didn't help at all. I'm afraid to UN-install and re-install for fear of loosing friends and family, I have sharing my account. I don't even see Emby in my program files, it does show up in task mgr. I have no clue whats going on, and I'm not all that computer savvy, but I can follow instructions pretty well. Hate to bring this up on Christmas Eve, but it's been going on since yesterday.

Lessaj 467 Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 If you're on the same machine as the server process you can try to access it via http://localhost:8096. Otherwise did you try to use the local address as mentioned in the first bullet? Barring that, did you try the plain HTTP link as mentioned in the third bullet point? More than likely your browser is automatically trying to use HTTPS, including when using Emby Connect. P.S. You should remove your screenshot it has your public IP on it, which luckily the port isn't open for. 1
Lessaj 467 Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 Thanks for sending me a PM but let's keep it in the thread. So if you're able to reach it with localhost then your server should be up and running on that device. Check your Network Profile if it's set to Private (correct) or Public (incorrect). The client apps might be working if it ends up using your external IP and then it hairpins, not really sure about that, but I suspect the Network Profile, it likes to randomly flip back to Public.

Network profile is set to "Private" I made sure, rebooted pc AGAIN Home Page still comes up, all media is showing. I just click on any file. Still getting the error message.

I downloaded them all. these should be from the start of the problems Look it's Christmas Eve. I don't know where your located, or what time it is there. I'm in Fl. and it's almost 10 here. If you don't get back for a few days, I understand. Go, be with your family, and have a great holiday. I will get e-mails on my phone. Thank You for the help
Lessaj 467 Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 Per this log file the IP address is actually 192.168.68.133, not sure where it's getting 192.168.0.101 from. Also I think the client apps might see it on the network because of a UDP broadcast, so you don't have to be specific, but on the web app you would.

That ends in 192.136 The DHCP 192.168.68.1 ???
Neminem 1518 Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 Did you manually set a Ip address on your server? 192.136 -> 192.168 seams like a type-o. 1

Not really sure. I added a user here at home (Peggy) Because I had her on my Plex account which of course went belly up. Now she's using an older Samsung t.v. with a "firestick". So that was Mon. the 21st. I was having a hard time with 1 t.v. series on her t.v. only. The series was It Welcome to Derry. ON her t.v. only it wanted to only start on episode 5. I have since deleted the series from my files, thinking that was the problem. I also have her signed out of Emby At the moment. Could the firestick be the problem? cause I can "pull her plug" Shes only my sons M.I.L who lives here with us.

Trekdriver3 12 Posted December 25, 2025 Author Posted December 25, 2025 Ok. Great you all have given me an idea, talking about "weird addresses". I don't really know much about "Peggy's T.V. and her firestick. Looks like I put Emby on her t.v. NOT on her firestick. Maybe they are conflicting. I'm going to delete the app from her t.v. and my p.c. first and see if that solves my problem. If it does, I will re-install on her firestick and my p.c. I will advise after that. Hopring for the best.
Neminem 1518 Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 Hmm what exatlly is "my p.c" ? Is that your server, some random device, or a PC not running Emby server ? Is Peggy's T.V. remote or local to your server ? 4 minutes ago, Trekdriver3 said: I will re-install on her firestick and my p.c. I will advise after that. Hopring for the best.

RanmaCanada 494 Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 Well for starters, your Emby server should have a static IP address on your network. That way you can open the ports on your router PROPERLY. If you're trying to access the server from the server, it gets to be a bit complicated at times because of how networking works. As Luke mentioned, the answer is in your screenshot as it tells you exactly what to do to access your server.

Trekdriver3 12 Posted December 25, 2025 Author Posted December 25, 2025 Ok form the emby connect site, when I try to sign in I get the Unable to access office mark. The first link ending in 101.8096 - Timed Out the next one 524.46 - Timed Out The next one HTTPS takes me to the Help Thread , the last one emby.media also timed out. I did remove the Emby account from Peggy's t.v. and deleted her account from my users, and re-booted, No help there. Emby home screen still comes up on my P.C. http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/home When I click on My movie library http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/videos?serverId=4c7f10c5008045d089faa627db1b7860&parentId=3 When I click on T.V. But when I click on anything, I get the Error Processing Request Please try later.
