Would like to have the option of showing a movie trailer. Is this Cinema Intros, Plex has it where I can select a movie and then optionally play a trailer if available.

Well it is option to turn the feature on or not to show intros with the plugin configs and enable per client user settings.

Or you also have the plugin VantagePoint

I enabled the Cinema Intros, can't find the app settings-client setting-playback. restarted server, don't see any trailers

If I select plugins the Cinema Intros 1.0.49.0 is shown.

2. When it works, where will the trailers be shown, under each movie selection like Plex ?

No idea what Plex does but it will launch trailers once you click play on content you have it enabled on ie Movies and/or Episode prior to the content.

Hi, what do you mean by can’t go to the right?

Posted

A list of items is displayed on the left, go down to one and go right to select changes

ie video go left and select a drop down box of various resolutions.

Move down to Cinema intros display - but you can't do anything, can't move off the cinema intro

When I select (on PC) plugins there are quite a few.plugin VantagePoint is listed. Was that auto installed or do I need to download and install.

Hi, it is a vertically oriented screen, so that's why I don't understand the left to right part. A screenshot would really help. Thanks.

Do you mean on this screen? You do not need to get to the right. We should trap pressing right the same as pressing OK. You just need to press OK to toggle these. Usually the options with "..." after them will allow you to enter them to the right. But the translations have changed and removed those.

@LukeThe translations for these strings have dropped the "..." from the end. Do we need to self append this now?

Does that help explain it?

You also need to supply your own local trailers for use with cinema mode. The trailers plugin in the Emby catalog will work to show a few upcoming online trailers. But if you want trailers for movies in your collection to appear you need to use the Ytrailers plugin offered by @radeonon his website shown in his signature when you view one of his posts on this forum.

Do you have your own trailers and/or intros? The Roku app cannot play YouTube movie trailers directly like most other clients can since the Roku cannot embed an official YouTube player. The Roku only supports one application running at a time and nothing can be embedded.

If you have trailers with your media already from Plex yes it will work. If Plex was playing web based trailers with your media that they themselves have obtained the rights to, then no. On Emby you must host the trailers on your server locally. The Ytrailers plugin will download local trailers for your media. The only online trailers that will work on Roku are in the Trailers plugin in the Emby catalog. This is not the same as Ytrailers. The movie trailers plugin in the catalog merely sources new and upcoming online movie links which can play on the Roku sometimes, but not always. The best way to get movie trailers onto your Roku that will work with the trailers button and with cinema mode is with Ytrailers. The trailers button on Roku will show next to the Play button for your media on the details screen if you have local trailers with your media.

The Ytrailers plugin will pull in local trailers that will be available to play on your Roku. This will allow you to use the cinema mode and set up trailers to play before your media begins like a movie theater does. It will also allow you to have a trailer button next to the play button on the detail screen. The trailers are downloaded into the same folder as the movie the trailer goes with. You just need to make sure you allow space on that drive to allow for them to download.

I purchased and downloaded  Ytrailers. Placed the ytrailer.dll in the emby plugin directory.

Restarted the emby server, went to plugins and added the ytrailer license key.

Restarted the server.

Went to Roku, made sure the cinema intro was yes

No trailers - looking under movie icon like w/plex  - WHAT AM I MISSING ???????

In the scheduled tasks. Look for the ytrailers task. Click it and then it will download the trailers. You can set a schedule for it in the scheduled tasks. The cinema mode settings you have shown after fine. Just keep in mind 2 trailers are going to play before your selected item. Once the ytrailers task has completed you should have trailers for most of your library.

Cinema mode is different than the trailers button. Cinema mode is going to play trailers before your media. It doesn't control whether or not that trailers button appears. The trailers button appears if you have a local trailer with the media stored locally. Ytrailers helps you get local trailers automated. You just have to run the scheduled task.

I don't really follow as Cinema intros is during playback ie click play and the plugin will select 2 trailers to play per your setting from the Trailers plugin.

YTrailers is about Local trailers ie getting trailers for movies you have added to your library per the trailers url recieved from TMDB on initial fetch.

A scheduled task has to run against your entire library and slowly download local trailers and will eventually get trailer buttons in the UI to play the local trailer.

But YTrailers really has nothing to do with Cinema Intros unless you select Include trailers from movies in your Library.

Also do you have Emby Premiere?  As Intros are a Premiere feature.
