Barbablanca 7 Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Please help me troubleshoot. For whatever reason, emby server won't connect anymore. I disabled the firewall rule, and that has zero effect. What else do I need to look?
Luke 42077 Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Hi there, what exactly happens when you try to connect?
Barbablanca 7 Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 I get the message that Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at localhost:8096. (this despite that the rule for embyserver is disabled on the firewall)

Barbablanca 7 Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 No, trying to launch the Emby web interface (browse library) gets the same message
Barbablanca 7 Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 The icon for the server shows in the system tray, but trying to launch the web client generates an error message
Luke 42077 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 OK is any server log generated in the logs folder? How to Report a Problem
Barbablanca 7 Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 What is the location of the server log file?
ebr 16169 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Hi. The rule in the firewall you are looking at is for public networks only. So, if your network is properly set to "Private" this rule has no effect anyway. Please ensure your network is set to "Private" and that you have appropriate rules in the firewall and let us know if that helps.

Barbablanca 7 Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 The larger log file is from a few weeks ago before things went south. The small log file is from recent. Although the server is running, I can't launch the web service to browse content. embyserver-63895367871.txt embyserver-63894614400.txt embyserver-63895367871.txt embyserver-63894614400.txt
Solution Lessaj 467 Posted October 7, 2025 Solution Posted October 7, 2025 Looks like you have a corrupt database. SQLitePCL.pretty.SQLiteException: Corrupt: database disk image is malformed SQLitePCL.pretty.SQLiteException: Exception of type 'SQLitePCL.pretty.SQLiteException' was thrown. Try to follow this KB to resolve it. https://emby.media/support/articles/Corrupt-Database.html
Barbablanca 7 Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 Thanks for your help. HOPEFULLY, I can manage to repair the library database file and be back in the game. For future just in case , might be wise to periodically make a copy of it for safekeeping if this should ever happen again . 1
