Santiag0 10 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 I feel like I jacked this guy thildebrand's post so I will start my own, sorry thildebrand.
thildebrand 0 Posted August 28, 2025 Author Posted August 28, 2025 No worries BTW, via Tailscale I was able to connect to the Emby server PC via two phones, a laptop and a mini-pc/TV successfully. In the mini-pc/TV we have repeatably 580Mbps down and 20Mbps up, while the server PC is 250Mbps down and 11Mbps up. Other than long delays when looking a the main Movies screen (12000+ items) and TV screen (5000+ items), and further short delays bringing up the details for a movie or TV show - it's working reliably well. Are there any tricks/tips to speed up the remote interface, i.e. toggling off ALL graphics and showing just a list similar to Windows Explorer? I tried looking at the TV library in Folders mode and List view and drilled down to _pqrs, then _s, then got tired of waiting for any of the ~600 rows to show up. So that's not an answer. I ran across Prefetch Images somewhere (in the Library properties?) but don't know if that's just a server-side thing or a remote user thing. Overall, the remote user experience experience to explore what's available in a library and pick something is only for the remarkably patient. However, once you start a video, things go quite swimmingly! I understand if you want to break this off into a separate topic regarding "speeding up the remote user interface"...
dandetkowski1962 1 Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 I'll chime in here. Been using Emby for years, now without warning, I can't connect remotely, only within my LAN network. I haven't touched a thing. Going crazy trying to figure it out. WiFi works fine at my home network. If I turn off wifi, nothing...
Luke 42077 Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 Hi, many screens have options for list views and table views.

Thanks!
dandetkowski1962 1 Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 All fixed. Something was wrong with my router, so I ended up resetting it within the web portal. Now I'm connecting remotely again! Although I'm not sure what could have happened with the router, it's supplied by my ISP and is only a few months old.... 1
