Latest betas (4.9.1.14 & 4.9.1.16) - playlist issues

Hi,

Been using the betas since I rebuilt a clean Emby setup. Most of it has been great.

However, we use playlists a lot for video. Unfortunately, Emby is no longer playing through the playlist when starting play on any title on the list. The playlist will play through a single series (whether started at E1 or later) and simply stops playing at the end of the series - despite the fact that there are additional series in the playlist. I scoured the logs and no errors were thrown when playback stopped - it simply stopped. The only way to get the playlist to play through is to use the playlist "play" button. But we often want to start playing elsewhere in the playlist. This is also not how Emby was behaving when I was testing things out a few weeks ago - playing via any title on the playlist would continue play throughout the list.

In addition, I wanted to continue play at the end of the playlist. Previously, to accomplish this, one would start playing a title, go into the settings menu while the title is playing, then one could choose options under the "repeat" menu: off, repeat one, repeat all. Choosing repeat all would go to the end of the entire playlist and then start it over (while I'm not as sure of the behavior of repeat one - whether it's a single title or a single series). Anyway, instead of going to the end of the entire playlist and starting over, choosing "repeat all" instead repeated only a single series in the playlist - over and over. I think this might be related to the bug above where play stops at the end of a series. 

Running Emby on macOS Sequoia 15.5. Using the latest Emby app on AppleTV.

The Emby web app has two options: "Play" and "Play all from here". "Play" will play through the series then stop, "Play all from here" plays the entire playlist as expected.

Previously, on the AppleTV app, if one would choose "Play" for an individual file, it would act as "Play all from here" does in the web app. This is also the way the AppleTV app acted when I was using  the last stable version of Emby (this is about 2 weeks ago now).

Short answer is that I'm not sure - though I'm guessing no because I don't think it's available yet for MacOS.
 

I'm using the MacOS Arm Beta at the bottom of this link: https://emby.media/mac-server.html (currently just updated to 4.9.1.17).

Playlists don’t have both play and play all. Where exactly are you clocking play?

I suppose, he means the menu option of playlist item:

 

I think, there's a feature overlap, because an episode of a series has a "Play all from here" action on its own already, even when there's no playlist at all. This feature plays all subsequent episodes of the series and stops then - like it's supposed to do.

Items in a playlist have a "Play all from here" feature as well - which plays all items in the playlist up to the end.

Means: The bug that is reported here is that the episode items in a playlist are showing the wrong "Play all from here" menu (well, looks always the same) - or that the wrong action is associated or carried out for "Play all from here"

But the issue I'm having is not with the web app. It's with AppleTV app and/or the underlying server.

OK, I was using the 3 dot menu to play in the web app. That's where I found the "Play" & "Play All" options.

I found a way that would offer more "parity" comparison between the web app and the AppleTV app. I simply clicked play on the episode photo play button in the web app (not using any left click or three dot menu). In this case, it did exactly as I would have expected - it played that episode and continued correctly through the entire rest of the playlist. So, no issues in the web app on how it's working.

I think that this leaves the issue with the AppleTV app? I'd like to see the feature returned that where we click play on an individual file, Emby plays through the remainder of the entire playlist - not just stop at the end of the series that episode belongs to.
