humanoid89 2 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 (edited) Hope someone can help please - I have Emby installed on a home QNAP NAS network and only connect via local network at home. I upgraded to v4.8.11.0 a few months ago and had an issue where I lost my folders and files within Emby (all still there on the NAS) and ended up having to reinstall from scratch (frustrating as lost all my viewing data). Since then everything been fine but this evening I was watching Emby earlier and then when I went to watch later, none of my devices could connect to the server. I checked no RAID cleanup was being undertaken and can still access my NAS and files via Windows folders and via Qfinder. However Emby would not connect to the server. I reinstalled the latest version (still v4.8.11.0) and did a restart. I can now access Emby but all of my movies/tv shows etc have all disappeared. I tried reinstalling a 3rd time and still the same. When I go to library in the Emby server, non of my library folders are showing. When I try to add a new library I get the message "There was an error adding the media path. Please ensure the path is valid and the Emby Server process has access to that location". I have not made any changes to my NAS, the file locations or any other settings and as I say was all working fine a few hours ago. I attach the server log below and all of the other logs from this evening - apologies wasn't sure which was most relevant. Is there a way to fix without having to reinstall from scratch again? If I do need to reinstall, is there a way I can save my viewing data as lost 6 years worth and as I watch a lot of different series at different times is now very hard to keep track if keep losing this information. I am not too tech savvy so not sure how to access back office files in QNAP and can only access via File Station currently but can see in Emby the server info is as follows; Version 4.8.11.0 Folders Programme Data /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata Cache /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/cache Metadata /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/metadata Logs /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/logs Transcoding Temporary Files /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/programdata/transcoding-temp embyserver.txt embyserver-63888825601.txt embyserver-63888898814.txt embyserver-63888913245.txt hardware_detection-63888911389.txt hardware_detection-63888911647.txt embyserver-63888911575.txt embyserver-63888912000.txt hardware_detection-63888914387.txt Edited July 24, 2025 by humanoid89
TMCsw 246 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 (edited) You appear to have a corrupt database! Did you ever run the beta version 4.9.x.y? If so you can't just switch back to the stable version as it made changes to the DB structure ( you need to reinstall the beta if this is the case or start over from scratch ). Otherwise take a look at: Corrupt-Database Edited July 24, 2025 by TMCsw
humanoid89 2 Posted July 28, 2025 Author Posted July 28, 2025 I had a similar previous issue earlier this year where I had tried to reinstall this same version a number of times and didn't work. I then installed the beta which didn't work and went back to 4.8.11.0. It did eventually come back and has been working since until the other day. I have ended up having to completely rebuild the database from scratch so have lost all my viewing data and metatadata annoyingly. I still don't really know what happened and does seem that the Emby server doesn't seem to work with QTS to restart by itself as had to force it via ssh. 1
