Suddenly at my girlfriends home i cannot connect to my server. In the morning before work i was able to access server and after work it will no longer connect. I also cannot connect to my plex or jellyfin server. Nothing has changed on my girlfriends modem. i have 4 other people on my server and they can still connect with no problems. Again, nothing changed on the server computer or my girlfriends modem/router. Any help would be appreciated.

Its weird that emby/plex/jellyfin wont connect. Everything else is fine. youtube works, security cameras work.

Restart phone 🤷‍♂️

But can any other device on her network connect.

Laptop via browser.

Try with only cell network.

no device in her home will connect to emby/plex/jelyfin, pc/phone/shield tv. have restarted modem server times. i can connect to plex, but says direct connect not possible and uses a relay to connect to plex. once you disconnect cell phone from her wifi emby works fine, as soon as reconnect to wifi emby no longer works.

Then that would point to something with her network connection or router.

Cell network : OK

wifi / wired network : not

Have you rebotted her router ?

If you already have tried rebooting router, it would suggest something I the router is not setup right.

ISP blocking ? are you using the default ports 8086 8096 and 8092 8920?

cable internet 200 megs. all default ports on server except jellyfin since it uses same port as emby. i did a wifi network reset on the modem and did not help. only thing left to do is a full modem reset, but cant do that till after work. also have had the same modem/router for 5 years and have never changed the settings and has always connected to server with no issues

Then I have no clue, sorry.

Has it been FW upgraded that did something odd.

Let's wait and see what happens you do a "full modem reset" after work.

Have you got mobile data to test from a different external network connection?

Eliminate her network and test from another point. If you still can't connect, there's a problem with your network/port forwarding config.

If you can connect from another point (not within your own lan), there's something on her network blocking the connection.

yes i connected to my mobile hotspot and everything worked fine. i know its on the modems end, but have no idea what problem is because nothing was changed

Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question: but does your phone use a vpn into your home network?

I only ask because my phone is setup this way and I've forgotten to turn it off during the same testing before.

no vpn. 3 different devices wont connect to emby/plex/jellyfin.
