gungatim 10 Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 I can no longer connect to the server on anything. I have signed into Emby connect and no servers show up. I have multiple android tv devices, and PC's all on the same network with the same exact problem. Windows firewall is turned off. I have multiple firewall rules opening every port listed, 80.8092, 8096, etc. Nothing works. Emby connect says PIN confirmed every single time (dozens of times trying) and still nothing will connect, and no servers show up. I have tried putting the Internal LAN address in directly, still nothing. Uninstalled and re-installed the app on the Android tv boxes and still nothing. I can't even put the internal IP address in on the server and see it. HELP!!!!
GrimReaper 4739 Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Is the server actually running? Do you see embyserver.exe instance in Task manager?
gungatim 10 Posted July 21, 2025 Author Posted July 21, 2025 Yes, it's running, I have it up in the browser window.

gungatim 10 Posted July 21, 2025 Author Posted July 21, 2025 The first time it said it couldn't reach the address, second time it pulled it up. But nothing else will. the samsung tv stopped, and all 3 android tv boxes can't connect, nor my other two PC's on the same network.

What exactly happens on Samsung?
gungatim 10 Posted July 21, 2025 Author Posted July 21, 2025 I enter it manually and it can't find the server. I sign into emby connect and no servers show up.

gungatim 10 Posted July 21, 2025 Author Posted July 21, 2025 I switched all the servers back to Starlink, and after a few minutes, they all started working again. It must be this new fiber high speed internet I got on Friday. Something is wrong with their router I'm guessing. After 3 hours, it all started working again. I am guessing their internet or router is junk. is there a reason Emby Connect doesn't work if you change networks? If the LAN IP address changes, does Emby Connect no longer work?
Luke 42078 Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Quote is there a reason Emby Connect doesn't work if you change networks? It does work if you change networks. This isn't really about the Emby Connect feature because you said that you tried by manually entering the server address. When you do that you are bypassing the Emby Connect feature, which is fine. So in that scenario, assuming you entered the correct address, then the server was just not reachable. Quote I am guessing their internet or router is junk. You may need to configure port forwarding on the new router: Connecting from Client Apps
gungatim 10 Posted July 22, 2025 Author Posted July 22, 2025 I wish I could, but there is no way to access the router. If I put in the default IP on the router, 192.168.1.1, it says it cannot connect. I think they have it locked down or something. I may try swapping it with one of my DDWRT hacked routers and see if I can quit using theirs. Thanks for the help! 1
