buongiorno,

ho preso un dominio e un certificato ssl pkcs7 per connettermi in https dall'esterno, ho configurato la porta tcp 8920 ma non riesco a connettermi, come posso fare?

per connettersi da esterno bisogna che il tuo fornitore internet ti assegni un IP PUBBLICO che puoi utilizzare solo tu.

La maggior parte dei gestori ti assegna un IP condiviso con altre utenze, quindi più persone dietro ad unico IP e tutti dietro al firewall dell'operatore (quindi aprire porte solo dal tuo router non basta) ; per far uscire emby, e te lo dico per esperienza, anche se tenti tecniche di NAT traversal, tailscale, zerotier.. riesci finchè la risoluzione dei video è a 480p.. ma se sali un pelo in più ci son troppe perdite di pacchetti a causa dei firewall. 

Parto da sta cosa perchè di solito questo è il problema n°1 per le connessioni casalinghe. Prova a verificare

Se hai filmati a bassa risoluzione risolvi probabilmente installando zerotier o tailscale sulle macchine che vuoi far comunicare tra loro. 

Se poi anche questa soluzione non bastasse, devi verificare con il tuo gestore se ha un opzione anche a pagamento per fornirti un ip pubblico tutto tuo. A me chiedeva 8 euro al mese, a quel punto ho preferito affittare un server vps a 3euro al mese, e farmi un reverse proxy verso pc di casa, così sto anche più sicuro senza esporre tutta la mia rete su internet.

ciao grazie x la risposta, ho un ip pubblico, volevo solo applicare un certificato https e magari mettere un nome a quell'ip. cosa che ho gia fatto con un fornitore apposta

hai aperto e inoltrato correttamente le porte sul router? upnp non è detto che vada

Hi Luke, 

Until yesterday, I shared Emby with my brother and cousin, using http://myip:8096 my IP is public and I opened port 8096 on the router. I wanted to add the https connection, I bought a ddns and an ssl certificate. Now I connect with http://nameddns:8096 and it work, but if I use https://nameddns:8920 I have no connection. I hope I haven't forgotten anything. Thanks

OK what exactly happens when you try to connect?  Where did the ssl certificate come from?

It doesn't connect, the certificate is in pkcs7 format and I generated it on No-ip

Nothing happens if I enter the credentials in the smartphone application if server, it gives me incorrect ones

What do you mean by nothing? Surely you must get an error message, right?

Yes of course I have done it in the past also for port 8096 in http, in this mode it has always worked

In My frizbox i Have open in tcp 8096 port and 8920 port.
