Lessaj 467 Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 (edited) I'm not really sure how you would have managed to prevent access to 8096 or how you expected to be able to set up SSL because disabling remote connections disables all of the options related to SSL and also disables all the options related to allowing/blocking, so there's really nothing preventing you from accessing 8096 unless you're blocking the port on the device firewall. I guess check system.xml and set the value to true if needed and recycle the service. <EnableRemoteAccess>true</EnableRemoteAccess> Otherwise provide server log. EDIT: Also make sure there's nothing else related to these lines, they should be single lines and not a block, this will remove any addresses you entered. <LocalNetworkSubnets /> <LocalNetworkAddresses /> Edited January 30, 2025 by Lessaj 1
Bishkek27 2 Posted January 29, 2025 Author Posted January 29, 2025 (edited) Everything was working perfectly and I was even watching a movie on my TV from my NAS, until I decided to put in the application's network settings this address http://[server]:8920/web/index.html. Sorry I made a mistake I put in the Home networks https port when I was connected to unsecured http 8096. And after saving the settings I got kicked out. Now how do I delete the settings file system.xml, or reset Emby settings? Now I will check both ports blocking, but I don't think that's the reason as 8096 was working initially. Lessaj 467 Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 You don't need to delete the file, just use a text editor to edit it. Where that file is exactly and how you go about editing it will depend on what platform you're running. Reading through it is pretty straight forward, you can edit any of the ports you might have changed as well.
Bishkek27 2 Posted January 30, 2025 Author Posted January 30, 2025 I have the Emby server on a NAS from Synology that runs on DSM. I don't know how to access this file.

Bishkek27 2 Posted January 30, 2025 Author Posted January 30, 2025 (edited) This guide doesn't work for me because I have a completely different problem. I have port 8920 closed and I don't know how to open it. The other way is to get to the system.xml file and reset it via the terminal I deployed in the docker on the debian image in DSM. The only thing is that I can't get to this file because I don't know its directory and the terminal doesn't see it. The thing is that I disabled all external connections in Emby and set the port address to 8920. Edited January 30, 2025 by Bishkek27
Solution Bishkek27 2 Posted January 31, 2025 Author Solution Posted January 31, 2025 Finaly! I've solved my problem. I needed to get to the system.xml file via SSH terminal and with the help of Carlo's guide I figured out the commands and by deleting the file the server recreated the file. Now everything works. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/118986-tutorial-ssh-into-synology-nas-with-useful-examples/ 1 1
