gruppa 3 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 (edited) Somehow the metadata got messed up for Hellraiser (1987) and now identify won't update it. Identify finds it but clicking OK at the bottom doesn't do anything. The spinny circle comes up for a second then goes away but it doesn't update anything. I've tried restarting Emby, re-naming the media file, removing identification and scanning the library again but nothing works. It plays fine though. Any advice would be much appreciated. Luke 42079 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Hi, it kicks off a metadata refresh when you click OK. I would just be patient and allow that to finish. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

The updating progress circle comes up then immediately vanishes, the OK bar at the bottom lights back up and it sits on the identify window like it's waiting for OK to be clicked again. I've left it there for an hour and nothing happens.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Hi, Please perform another identify and then update your log file as described here. Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks! Thanks, Carlo 1

Here is the log from yesterday after I tried to run the identify on Hellraiser a few times. It works on 99% of the shows and movies I have but there are a small handful where identify doesn't update, but it does let me manually update the metadata, change images, etc.. I xxx'd out all identifying IPs and hostnames. embyserver-63863424000.txt

I don't doubt there is some DB corruption as this Emby has been moved between about 6 computers over the past 3 years before settling on the current server. I don't know enough about Unraid and *nix to futz around with SQL DB and possibly break the current library as it's a real chore to rebuild it if something goes wrong and it took about 3 months to finally get it to where I like it. It's only affecting a very small number of media and I can always just update the metadata manually. Maybe it's something I can tackle later. Thanks for the help and at least I have an idea on where to start. 1

Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 If you have configured the Backup and Restore plugin you may want to check and see if you have a backup that is not corrupted. 1 1
