Pobinski 2 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 HI All Not quite sure were to start here, is this a QNAP Issue or a Router issue, so here goes. I can use Emby on the Local Network. no Problem So Locally it has installed correctly to my Qnap NAS and i can access the libary using my Browser etc, i can access things using my Android Phone etc when on the Local network too. Qnap - TS431P FW / QTS 515.2679 I have Activated the Port Forwarding on my UDM Pro and forwarded the ports 8096 8920 The Ip Used is the Local IP for the NAS Am i missing somthing here. as i cannot see the Share outside of the network. Is there anything i can try to Rule out if its a NAS setting or the Router Would a Static IP help ? as my IP Is going to be changing to a Static one soon. about a week. Any Help would be appreciated. Cheers
visproduction 315 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Did you setup the firewall? https://emby.media/support/articles/Connectivity.html#open-tcp-port-8096-on-your-servers-firewall
Luke 42077 Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 HI, what exactly happens when you try to connect to your Emby Server remotely?
Pobinski 2 Posted September 3, 2024 Author Posted September 3, 2024 Going to Try again today, i think the other issues were getting casued by Double NAT, the ISP had took my Fibre out of Bridge Mode and i didnt realise. they have activated my Static IP that i asked them for weeks ago today. so going to give this another crack, as it should work ok now, with Static IP once i forward the ports and the Double NAT issue has been resolved . will come back to you. Cheers
Pobinski 2 Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 OK So Still Struggling. When i open Emby on the Qnap it tries to open up the NAS IP :8096 etc then i get the site that cannot be reached. so its trying to get there Could this now be either Firewall issue ? or beacuse i have uninstalled and reinstalled this App several times... the first time i ran this i got the landing page a few days ago to set the server up now i cannot get it to come back... Now i have a static IP. i have already Forwarded the Ports 8096 & 8920 in my UDMPRO i have made sure my NAS in my internal network also has a static ip, i tried turning off the firewall in the Qnap and forwarding the ports also in there to see if that was stopping the access but still no go...

Pobinski 2 Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 Its goes to my server ip with the port 8096 http://10.69.1.118:8096/ Cheers
Pobinski 2 Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 Sorry it was 8920 https://10.69.1.118:8920/

Pobinski 2 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 Strange Its letting me do this now and i can see the server again... So We are half way there now. Locally i can connect to the server, PC, Phone TV etc Everything is working great Getting the Remote is the next Step. There will only ever be 2 Other users and Myself remotely the rest will be Local. Port Forwarding this is what has got me. Its my own fault for buying enterprise network stuff for the house, massive overkill but Nice to have i just wish i had the knowledge more to utilise it all. So i now need to set up a Port Forward on the UDMPRO to go from my Static IP to the Local NAS ip is that correct ? on port 8096 ? Thanks
Pobinski 2 Posted September 7, 2024 Author Posted September 7, 2024 I dont know how or why but i think this is working now. i am connected at the moment streaming to my Mobile phone on 5G , going to check over at my parents house later 1
Pobinski 2 Posted September 7, 2024 Author Posted September 7, 2024 Solved, Not sure what it was, possible Port Conflict, but i was able to add my GF who is 40 Mins Drive away she could access from her PC and her Phone Through Wifi / Data Now i need to build a slightly faster Server and get this off my NAS and in my Rack on in the attic. Thank you !!! 1
