xxlargedog 2 Posted September 1, 2024 Author Posted September 1, 2024 I have followed the guides opened the ports turned on remote access enable automatic port mapping
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) What does a site like canyouseeme.org show for the ports? Are you manually port forwarding or trying to depend on automatic UPNP port forwarding? Have you verified if you are on a CGNAT? What platform are you one? What network type is your networks set to Public or Private? Remote Setup | Emby Documentation Edited September 1, 2024 by Happy2Play
xxlargedog 2 Posted September 2, 2024 Author Posted September 2, 2024 canyousee me gives me an error, but i have looked using cmd and shows port is listening using linksys mesh doesn't have automatic upnp port fowarding i'm not on a cgnat using windows 11 private network
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Yes Emby may be listening but canyouseeme says the port is closed the outside world is not getting in on that port. 5 minutes ago, xxlargedog said: using linksys mesh doesn't have automatic upnp port fowarding So do you manually port forward Emby ports?
xxlargedog 2 Posted September 2, 2024 Author Posted September 2, 2024 was using the automatic through emby but did port forward on my linksys

Users tend to have a better experience when disabling that entirely, and manually configuring port forwarding in their router.

pwhodges 2012 Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 You can ask your ISP to be allocated a routable address - it's worked for some people. Otherwise look into TailScale or some other tunnelling system. Paul
