JBloom91 31 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I like to be able to see what record label/publisher an album is from, but I cannot figure out if that is an option in Emby. If it is, could someone help me out? If it isn't... Any chance we could get this option down the road? Please? 2
Luke 42078 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Hi, yes this is certainly possible for future updates. Thanks for the feedback.
user24 313 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Yes, this would definitely be a nice addition for music. Emby already has the equivalent "Studios" field for Movies and TV Shows. The "Studios" section does appear in the Albums Edit Metadata window, but there seems to be no way to populate it, either directly, or via importing embedded tags (AFAIK). Perhaps this could be repurposed/reassigned for music in some way? I have found both "Label" and "Publisher" in some of my embedded music tags. I also had a quick look on MusicBrainz and it appears that API requests for "Label" are possible (needs someone more technical than me to investigate further). A couple of workarounds (if you are desperate and have plenty of time) could be: Manually add Emby tags for the record publishers/labels. Add the record labels as embedded Genres and then import into Emby (yes, I know a record label is not technically a Genre). I also found some very very old forum posts relating to music labels (circa 2015), e.g.: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/29069-record-label-art/ (scroll down to the last couple of posts). Did Emby ever have this functionality a long time ago???
ebr 16174 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Hi, there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at:
