after fiber installation, all servers disappeared

I use PS3 media server and Windows media server, they appear on my Smart TV Samsung and I click and navigate the folders to access my video or music files

Now after Fiber has been installed, they don't appear at all (usually they were after Remote access.

PS3 media server will not work (usually at the bottom, I'd see the SAMSUNG TV nad WIndows media server.

In the SFR BOx settings there's a setting for Media server, but it's to use the Box itself as server but I have to plug a USB cable from the box to the PC

Anyone could point me to find a solution?

Can you describe for us the layout of your network?

And why is this being posted here?  But at least needs move to say Other as PS3 Media Server is outside the scope of Emby.

not sure what technical elements you need

I have a 15 year AMP Sempron with Windows 7. My Box is a SFR box 8 GR14OIG (Vodafone), my PC and TV have a cable link, it's a SAMSUNG ue55ru7475uxxc.

I have IPv4 and IPv6 on, UPnP v4 and v6 on, MAC filtering offI add a picture of my Wifi settings that do not show TIZEN (= SAMSUNG) or Xiaomi 13t pro (sometimes it doesn't appear at all)or sometimes in 5 ghz) that are on Wifi with the box

I don't understand how Emby works, ca't find a way to choose files to share ... I have tried SimpleDLNA, Serviio and others and though they identify the TV, the TV receives nothing.

I add a pciture of the Wifi settings where TIZEN doesn't appear

Hi there, how exactly are you looking for the server on the PS4?

What TV?

TV is SAMSUNG ue55ru7475uxxc, on PS4 there's a Media Player app, it usually detects the server automatically, but it says "connect a USB storage device to the PS4 or connect a media server to your network"

I checked all the settings for sharing files on Windows 7 (choosing sharing options, choose media streming options, and my PC and TV are activated there

OK, it asks me Connexion to server, and Host I don't know what to type in (I tried 192.168.1.1 didn't work, I put 192.168.1.122 in Emby/Network/local Ip address and on the app.emby.media and it says "impossible to reach server"

In the Apps on my TV I found Emby and it asks the same ; Connexion to server and host

Hi.  Did you read this document?

I think its time for @TheTenthto read Quick Start

Where is the content you are trying to access?  Have you installed Emby Server?

Posted (edited)

I read the Quick start and a bit more, but it doesn't say I have to fill "host" (with an IP I guess), I found Emby on my TV, installed it and put my password, but then I'm stuck

The content is on my tower PC, which has Emby server installed

To get back to the start, when my connection changed from ADSL to Fiber, my TV and PS4 didn't have the servers appearing anymore. I tried Serviio, simple DLNA,  wild media server, but the TV doesn't see them. Before I had an icon for PS3 media server and Windows Media center. I think it's more a setting from the Box that chaned things. The programe work and Windows settings for sharing are open.

Thanks for trying to help.

I can share pictures of my Box settings if needed.

Do I need : UpnP on or off? IPv6 on or off? dynamic DNS on or off?

Should I open some ports like when sharing with the PS3?

I can't find DLNA in the Box settings, neither IGMP proxy, I read it should be deactivated

So something in your new setup is blocking DLNA on your LAN?

Does this have an on/off option?  Could it be blocking all other servers do to already using port 1900?

But DLNA and Emby apps are two different connections.

yes, the Box server can be deativated, I tried it one time and turned it off after it didn't work.

There are no closed ports, but I could open the 1900

I have a setting "DHCPv6 server" that has "SLAAC" and "enable DHCP" both off

Hi, stuck how and where?

I'l stuck as I don't know what IP address to put there, on the TV app, I have a pin, that I put on emby.media/pin on the computer, it says it's ok, then I have a page with "add a server" on the right and "connect to Emby" on the left

choosing "add a new server", first line is "host" then Port (8096) then Connect

I don't know what Ip or something to put in "host" ; I tried the IP for Wan on the Emby dashboard, but it says it can't find the server (tried in LAN too with the cable)

What is the address of your Emby Server? That's what you should enter there.

I tried these with Lan or Wifi, neither works, can't find the server

I'm still trying with other server software (simple DLNA, PS3 media server, Windows media, Serviio) none works, they detect the TV (Emby doesn't, sees only Firefox in Devices)  but the TV doesn't.

Have you ever connected from another device before? I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter:

Connectivity

Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks !

I bagan following the steps and everything seemed OK

SOmehow I thought of Avast having blocked some programs and sites I didn't want it to block so restarted it but deactivated the auto start. I saw Emby appear in my TV menu. So I uninstalled Avast totally, and now I have Emby, PS3 media server, Windows media center. So it was Avast blocking all.

What Antivirus is both cheap and efficient for blocking viruses?

(for now I reinstalled Avast and the problems are gone, but I'll try to find a better antivirus that lets me use the programs I want)

Pretty sure it has its own firewall and would need to create Emby exceptions or look at connection type also.

What platform as I just just what MS comes with.

But all third party software may need some manual configurations.

I always found very difficult to know what Avast blocked or why, and how in the UI to find how to "unblock" things

Maybe I'll get BitDefender but I'd hate to pay and it blocks my media server like Avast did.

Thanks everyone for trying to find a solution, but I think often the Antivirus will block things

Pretty sure it has its own firewall also so would expect the same results.

An overview of the Bitdefender Firewall feature

I would not pay for something else I would just look at creating exceptions in Avast for application and firewall rules of Emby ports.
