TysonDaniels 1 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 I apologize if this has been covered to death, I am new to working with NAS servers and I am really excited about Emby. I got everything up and working locally with very little issue. I can access Emby on my desktop, Iphone and Apple TV as long as I am on my wifi. I am trying to set up remote access and for the life of me I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I have tried to read all the other questions about this and I have gone through the Help articles on this over and over. Automatic Port mapping wasn't working so I did the External Domain option under NETWORK- That seems to work. I THINK my issue is that on my Emby dashboard, it has both LAN and WAN pointing to 8096. So they are the exact same IP address and port combo. I have been trying to figure out how to get the Remote (WAN) to point to 8920. (or get the In-Home (LAN) to point to 8920 if that's the case). In NETWORK I have both Public http Port number fields filled. The top with the 8096 and the second field has the 8920. Or maybe I am barking up the wrong tree entirely. It's been a long road of trial and error and I have avoided posting here right away without doing my own digging, but I think I am over my head and could really use some help.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Did you provide a ssl certicate to Emby? If not it will only use 8096. https://emby.media/support/articles/Secure-Your-Server.html If you already have then we will need to see a server startup log to see the cert loading. As for LAN it will always be http/8096 to my knowledge.
TysonDaniels 1 Posted August 8, 2024 Author Posted August 8, 2024 Oh. I did not do that. I'll work on that and see if that is my issue. Thank you! 1
