Just noticed last night. New movies not showing up. Even if I go to the dashboard/library and scan files from there nothing happens.

Version 4.8.8.0

embyserver.txt

Also just noticed I'm not getting any images. I have an nfo file and bif file, but I have video thumbnails set to Never.

Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.

Do you have other libraries? If so are they behaving as expected? If so maybe remove the bad library and replace it. I had this happen with TV Specials and nothing short of rep[lacing the library fixed it.

@dnicksdo you have a specific example as librarymonitor is seeing lots of changes.

But may need to go over library setup

Thanks for the replies. I'm currently away from home.
I deleted the library and added it back just before I left.  I'll check to see if that worked later.
I've had libraries set up for quite a long time. I recently separated my collection movies into their own folder. Then I tried to add my new collection and that's when I noticed they didn't show up. I also added a movie in the original movies folder that didn't show up.
I wonder if librarymonitor is seeing changes because I keep scanning library?

TV shows work fine.

edit- so the movies showed up after deleted and added back the library but they have no images. It looks like all other metadata is there. They aren't grouped into a collection though.
I can see them in the library I added but not in the auto collections library.

also, the single movie I put in the original movies folder never showed up even after deleting that library and adding it back. 🤷‍♂️

@Luke

@Happy2Play

 after the comment above I realized there is no metadata. I can access the movies but they aren't in a collection. I tried to identify the movie but no search results. metadata refresh did nothing.

Could you share a screenshot of how many libraries and with which paths you have created (Settings>Library tab)? As this appears as overlapping paths (not supported) at the first glance:

I've had these set up for years, not sure why all the sudden I'm having an issue. They are set up like this -

Mom Movies - H:/Mom Movies

                        - H:/MomandDad Movies

Dad Movies - H:/Dad Movies

                      - H:/MomandDad Movies

So there are folders that are in multiple libraries, but it has always worked.

Just had a thought. I downloaded Jellyfin to try it, then deleted it. I only pointed it to movies and not TV shows. Is there any way it all didn't get deleted and that is why the log says it's already being watched? It would explain why TV shows work fine and Movies don't.

Yeah, can't see anything there as multi-path libraries. Does any of your movie or TV Show libraries have "H:\" as one of the folder paths?

I actually did find H:\ in a library. I deleted it and that folder and others then had no movies. I just deleted the library H:\ was in and added it back. Scanning now.

Update to the above post

Deleting the H:\ path seemed to work. I had to go in to every library and delete the folder paths and re-add them, then emby would scan those folders fine.

But, as I did that with each library, the one I had done previously would show no movies.

For example, I go into Mom's library and delete all folder paths and re-add. Emby scans, all movies show up in mom's movies in web app. Then I go into Dad's library and do the same, scan, all movies show up in web app.

Go to Emby web app and go back to mom's movies and now they are gone.

*As I am removing some library folders I'm getting an error

Hi.  As a general rule, any time you use a structure that is outside of our suggestions - even if it happens to work - it is very likely to break at some point in the future.

Guess would be that overlapping and/or nested folder structure/paths are causing your issues (though never officially supported, one could've make certain scenarios work as long as being careful about path selection), and likely resulting in:

Corrupt Database

Before taking any steps, though, I'd still post server log in order to confirm that.

Would need to see the exact error in log though but yes could have broke the database.  Will guess Foreign Key constrants.

Thanks everybody. I appreciate all the help.
I just decided to delete the server and restart. Hopefully that will fix any issues. If not, I'll have to look into restructuring my library.

@Luke

 Hi, I completed the reinstall and everything is working fine. I originally started adding libraries the same as I previously had them, but decided to simplify things as to hopefully not run into issues down the road.

@Luke

So I guess I'm still having issues. Now one of the users isn't showing the movies library. I was going to try to delete that user and re-add, but the delete button isn't there (Delete is there for all other users).

btw, I just checked the database (PRAGMA integrity_check) and it returned ok.

and just as I post this, movies show up for that user. wtf

Hi, all I can think of is maybe the scan hadn't completed yet or you hadn't restarted the Emby app that this user was signed into after changing their library access.

Regarding deletion, if you are signed in as Mom, then you can't delete yourself.

I think you are correct.
