dynamohum 4 Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 +1 on this. I'd like to see something like "Recently Added" as a home screen option for Movies/Films

But assuming Smart Views make into 4.9 you may have options coming. Edited July 5, 2024 by Happy2Play
dynamohum 4 Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 (edited) Does that show recently added or recently released? Maybe I've not got mine set up right but I'd just like a list of stuff that was recently added I'll check out Smart Views Edited July 5, 2024 by dynamohum

The normal Lastest Movie row is already Date Added. But as mentioned all media is dependent on your Date added value being Import date or file creation date. So Date added has always existed from a movie standpoint on Home Screen.

dynamohum 4 Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 What section in the Home Screen settings do I choose in order for the home screen to show recently added movies - i.e. content that has been recently discovered by Emby? I'm not seeing it. Presumably that's "Latest Media"? I'm finding that this doesn't show new content so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Go to Settings >Application Settings > Home screen Layout > There you'll select from the menu on the left and select the "None" option, there you'll see a list of menu options to add and you'll find "Latest Media" I'll show the last content you've added to your library. You also have the option of selecting: "Recently Released Movies" Under Latest Media you'll have the "Latest Movies" option and TV shows, music and recordings.
dynamohum 4 Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 I just wanted to know if there is a section that shows content that was recently added, not recently released. Is that possible?

Is that possible? Latest rows use Recently Added date of any content you have added. But that being said Date Added it dependent on the Library setting "Date added behavior for new content". So it will either be date scanned into library or file creation date which will most likely not put it in the front of the list. So if you are adding content and it is not at the from of the Latest Movies row you need to verify your set library behaviour then the actual media date added value. Now the New Release row is exactly that it will use the medias release date.
Roger Graham 6 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Is there any way to change the text "Latest Movies" to "Recently Added Movies", to be consistent with the "Recently Released Movies" section? Especially when the my most-recently-added movies are themselves relatively recent, some of my users get confused. I realise it's a minor thing, but "Latest" can be a bit ambiguous.

Hi, there currently isn't, but they are not exactly the same. Latest means last X number of movies, no matter how long ago that might have been.
Roger Graham 6 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 "Latest" means the "last xx number of movies added to the server", yes? That's how it seems to work. Hence, it would be great if it could be renamed. If not, no worries, just thought I'd check. 1
