Audio Out of Sync when using appleTV

Hello,

I have been using my appleTVs for many years with out issues, but now I am constantly noticing Audio being slightly of sync. Is anyone else having this issue and are there anything I can do to try and fix this issue? When I play on my PC it plays fine, this is on lan/direct play as well. Sometimes it will start happening when i pause/resume, but I now notice it a lot even when I am not pausing.

edit: the logs are not anonymized when  I click that option I had to remove them. Should I pm them?

 

It shows my server info on these lines, it seems to be hiding some info , but not others.

Hello i redacted some of my info from the log files I think the anonymize button is not working fully.

@Jonathan1683try turning off framerate matching in the AppleTV settings. So far this is reported to work and a workaround for now, if you want to use it for other Apple TV apps you’ll have to turn it back on. Alternatively you can also use DLNA to AppleTV or other 3rd party apps as well. (VidHub, infuse**paid sub**) infuse is the most recommended 3rd party app to use on AppleTV for features that are not available yet for the official Emby app for appleTV.

I turned off frame rate matching and it seemed to fix the audio issue. Thanks for the help, I don't know what I am missing out on without that option, but I think I rather have the audio in sync, it was very annoying.

Actually it looks like there is still this issue after turning that off. Is there any idea when this might be fixed? There is nothing worse than trying to watch shows and the audio is out of sync

Hello, I'm new to Emby, just moved across from Plex and the first time I tried the Emby TVOS app, I noticed the same thing, the audio is out of sync, back to Plex, no issue. Checked on a browser session on my MacBook, no issue, seems like an issue with the TVOS app.... not incline to make the Apple TV setting change as described above, as I use a lot of other apps without issue and don't want to upset these...

Is there going to be a fix for the TVOS app ?

Why did you move from plex? I was considering moving to that because of this issue and I noticed this problem has been here for about 6 months so I am worried it may not be fixed. I just don't want to do put all the effort into moving everything over and end up having other things I don't like about plex. I really like emby minus this big issue and it has always been rock solid for apple tv until recent and I have been using emby over 7 years now, but I don't know what else to do.

I looked at Emby, I thought it was a bit more 'polished' than Plex, I was an early adaptor of Plex, been using it since its inception with a lifetime pass, whilst Plex has worked well for me, they have become a bit stale, not much change, so I thought I would load up Emby and have a closer look, I liked how it presented and looked and felt much cleaner, but I have found some things that need to be addressed by Emby, the above with the Apple TV app being a real problem for me.... the good thing is, I'm sharing my file repositories with both Plex and Emby, so its no real issue to run them both, which is what I'm doing for now... I use Sonarr and Radarr to keep all my files in check, so this helps both Plex and Emby... I also run these on Ubuntu Linux, hope this helps

Has there been anymore updates on this? I had the same issue with an Apple TV 4k and I really want to use the native app but had to cancel emby premiere until it's resolved.

Having this issue as well.  Looks like it’s being going on for a long time, that’s unfortunate  hopefully it gets worked on soon!  Happy to provided any logs needed.

Same boat for me as well.  Having to pay for and use an Infuse subscription as a front end since this hasn't been remedied.  Infuse plays perfectly and uses the database smoothly.  Only issue is that Infuse doesn't have the ability to see the "extras folder" and play any special features.

Exactly!  And there are other topics on this same subject, this has been “we’re looking into it” for at least a year so don’t hold your breath.  Infuse is sadly the way.

But was watching something today and the lip sync was so far out I decided to take another look.  I did turn off the Match Frame Rate and the same content seems to now align perfectly.

I googled this setting and don't understand what the impact of turning it off is to other apps.  But other apps seem to work fine with this turned on, so would like to learn more about this?

I'm experiencing the same issue with audio out of sync on Apple TV with ripped content. Live TV via my HDHomerun works fine without any sync issues.

one thing i notice is all the black scenes on movies look terrible washed out and blocky like im watching it on 56k real player when doesn’t matter if its in 4k still looks bad and i have to keep toggling between either out of sync audio or bad quality video
