FreeBSD 14 - Emby 4 - stopped working

Hello!

On a new install of FreeBSD 14, I installed Emby 4.7.13 for freeBSD 13, it worked well until Emby 4.8, then went on a business trip and when I came back I saw Emby 4.9.0.1 is out.

I installed it, nothing changed, so I completely removed Emby from my system, reinstalled version 4.9.0.1 and still it will not start.

it exists on signal 6, and there is no log from Emby as to why it crashed,

Then 4.8.1 is released 3 days ago....

can anyone lend a hand ?

Hi there, is any emby server log file generated in the server logs folder?

Also 4.9 is a beta, not a production release. Are you sure that's what you wanted?

Hello luke.

The whole FreeBSD version history is tagged as beta on the download page. - I usually install it when the UI tells me there is a release. in this case the server wan not working so I took it from the download page. https://emby.media/freebsd-server.html

You have pkg for freeBSD 14 also but they are not listed on the page. I did try those from the download link on Github.

I did mention the server produces no logs whatsoever.  it won't even start.

user@media:/var/db/emby-server $ ls -la

total 9
drwxr-xr-x   2 emby emby   2 Feb 10 00:12 .
drwxr-xr-x  20 root wheel 28 Feb 10 00:12 ..
user@media:/var/db/emby-server $

dmesg spits out this.
pid 21936 (EmbyServer), jid 0, uid 989: exited on signal 6 (no core dump - other error)
pid 21937 (EmbyServer), jid 0, uid 989: exited on signal 6 (no core dump - other error)
pid 21938 (EmbyServer), jid 0, uid 989: exited on signal 6 (no core dump - other error)
pid 21939 (EmbyServer), jid 0, uid 989: exited on signal 6 (no core dump - other error)

about 100 times.

Same for me: after a pkg update emby went off. Now with the previous openssl-1.1.1 it's working.

I've lock the version to avoid any further issue...

pkg lock openssl
