Erik 124 Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 (edited) Hello, just an FYI post in case someone else encounters the same issue ( @Luke tagging you as I don't know who administers the support section specifically) I had an issue this last week that the Configuration Backup utility kept failing after I changed Emby to run as a service following these instructions: https://emby.media/support/articles/Run-as-Windows-Service.html I following the instructions exactly, but finally figured out that the service by default is using the local admin account and not the account that Windows 10 logs in with and therefore the permissions did not match the remote file share. It may be worth mentioning in the support article that when setting up the service the user may need to configure the "Log on" windows login account being used to allow access remote shares that are password protected (in my case the backup in on my Synology NAS as I don't want the backup on the same physical computer) It was harder to identify the issue the rest of Emby worked perfectly so I didn't jump to share authentication right away as this issue isn't present when not running as a service (I am assuming as its installed using the user/pass of the current windows login session). Thanks! Edited January 14, 2024 by Erik

Thanks! i too am getting this backup failed to run. i noticed it happening the other day, the last backup it successfully did was on the 4th of this month. my backup is set for twice a day but hasn't done even one since the 4th. i didn't change anything on the server except i updated to the latest beta. so i have no idea what is going on with it. might need to delete and reinstall the plugin or something... Update , i deleted the plugin and set it back up restarted server and currently running server backup, but it is running pretty slow a lot slower than it used to i don't know why. also idk if it will finish the backup if it doesn't i will let you know.. Neminem 1519 Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 @hjason7812 see this, since you are running beta.
