Dan64 30 Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 (edited) I recently upgraded from Emby Server 4.4.3 to Emby Server 4.7.14, and I noted that the field "TheMovieDb Collection Id" is missing in the metadata page. I lost all the collections previously created automatically by Emby Server 4.4.3 an there is no way to create them again. Could you explain why this feature has been removed ? P.S. I noted that this feature was removed in Emby Server 4.6.0.50, and the removal was not included in the release info. Edited November 11, 2023 by Dan64
Dan64 30 Posted November 11, 2023 Author Posted November 11, 2023 More information can be found in this post: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/122916-moviedb-unable-to-get-images-for-collections/
Luke 42081 Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 HI, it hasn't been removed, it's just handled differently now. Try refreshing the metadata on all of the movies. You'll need to enable the library option to import collection information first.
Dan64 30 Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 I read this post and it is a nightmare for a user having a huge library. I consider Emby a good product, are 10 years that I'm using Emby (previously as MediaBorowser and MB3) and as a old user I contributed to reports bug and suggest improvements. Currently the only advise that I can provide is: STOP, STOP to broken compatibility with the previous version at every jump of version, because for old users (having huge library) is always a mess.
Luke 42081 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Hi, you don't need the plugin. I think you would have gotten a more graceful upgrade by going from 4.4 to 4.5. to 4.6 and then 4.7. For the majority of users it was a seamless change. Again the feature was not removed, just the data stored differently in the database.
