musicmafia 38 Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 (edited) Hi Everybody! Ran into this issue for the first time tonight. Able to connect on PC browser but not on my Google/Android TV. I tried the regular TV app and sideloaded app on the TV. Error says unable to connect to server. I also tried the emby connect, it accepted the pin, then still would not connect to server. Also tried connecting manually, entered the IP and port (in-home lan access from my dashboard), still nothing. It's been working fine until today. Also tried force stopping the app, turning off and rebooting PC and TV. My TV connects to network via ethernet and signal is strong and all other apps are connecting fine. Logs attached, any help appreciated. Thanks embyserver (1).txt embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63826609226.txt Edited August 3, 2023 by musicmafia
musicmafia 38 Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 PS I also went through my AV (eset) program logs and saw no detections or events.
musicmafia 38 Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 I also tried the "wake server" option and "remove server" option, then attempted to add server but still nada. I can't think of anything else to try.
Luke 42080 Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 HI there, I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter: Connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.
musicmafia 38 Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 I wasn't having any luck manually but I decided to take a deeper dive into the antivirus program (eset) and did indeed find that eset was blocking network access. It's the same prgram I've used for years and know idea why suddenly it did this. The only thing different I could see was the eset program updated yesterday and that's when the problem started. So I ticked the UNBLOCK box and it said it allowed "partial" communication. I tried opening Emby on the TV and still unable to connect. It said "Still not working?" create another rule, so I clicked that. Only with this last setting (above) would it allow me to connect. Is this safe for me to leave this setting as is in the AV program?
musicmafia 38 Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Now every time I use the TV app, it makes me enter my password again. What am I doing wrong now?

I went to startup settings and the box requiring password was unchecked but the box logging out after a period of time was checked so I just changed that to "never." I p[resume that is the correct fix? PS Are my firewall settings okay above? Thanks
