luifrans3 3 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Hello, I am trying to setup port forwarding on my server, it hasn't been working on a WAN connection. When adjusting the settings for port forwarding I get the following fields to input and filled it in. Source Zone: WAN Destination Zone: LAN Source IP: (my current IP address) Destination Device: (drop down menu with devices connected to local Network, selected server) Destination IP: (auto fills when the destination device is picked, not to current IP address but the in home LAN access number emby has. Port Type: (Port or Port Range, selected Port) Public Port: 8096 Protocol: TCP Local Port: 8096 I then get an error message saying the following: Duplicate port forward entry. At most one enabled entry in this table can exist with all the same values for name or source ip, start of public port and protocal. Not sure why it isn't working, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Is uPNP enabled? This could cause a conflict. Paull
luifrans3 3 Posted July 20, 2023 Author Posted July 20, 2023 Hey, thanks for the advice but I disabled uPNP and tried and it didn't work. I then left the Source IP blank, it still isn't working
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Maybe take a screenshot of the router settings or let us know the router model ? I assume emby is working locally ?
luifrans3 3 Posted July 20, 2023 Author Posted July 20, 2023 Yes it is working locally, just not working remotely
Luke 42080 Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Are you sure the ip addresses in your port forwarding rules are correct?
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 I'm confused by the rules. You only need a SINGLE port mapping - WAN to LAN (emby) The destination IP looks to be incorrect ? Should it not be 192.168.1.157 - the IP address of the emby server (you have it as 192.168.0.158?) - which is not even on the same subnet ? Also unless you tick 'use hairpin' - you will not be able to TEST WAN connection from your LAN - you will need to turn off wifi on your phone, and use 3/4/5G etc
luifrans3 3 Posted July 21, 2023 Author Posted July 21, 2023 I would assume the ISP allows for these ports to be opened as their interface has the option for port forwarding. When I first opened emby it would show on the dash that the LAN connection to be the IP ending in 158. I was unable to connect on a LAN connection, the theater app auto connected and showed to be the proper IP that ends with 157. I just left those ports open, figured it would cause any harm until I got it working. When testing the WAN connection I use 4G cellular or connect to a VPN on my laptop.
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 ok so this rule looks to be correct then - btw - it's WAN to LAN (not LAN to WAN) - the SOURCE is the WAN Are you 100% no entry in the SOURCE means 'Any' ? What model router is it ? Next you need to check the local firewall - temporarily disable it to test, but if you can connect locally - the emby setup should have correctly done this for you. 1
luifrans3 3 Posted July 21, 2023 Author Posted July 21, 2023 I swapped all the ports to WAN to LAN. The firewall for the router has been off since I began trouble shooting emby. I am not sure if no source means any. The router model is adtran 834-5
Q-Droid 989 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 You can't have multiple entries for the same source IP:Port. Your image is showing three for the same.
luifrans3 3 Posted July 21, 2023 Author Posted July 21, 2023 Hey, thank you all for the helpful comments, it is working on a remote connection now, have a good one! 1 1
