laola 12 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 (edited) Since the Betas are expireing every 30days I want to install (for my brother in law who lives some hundred km away) an amby app which doesn't expire (the app isn't in the App store in Germany) - it seems I am to stupid to find the right place... Emby for Samsung Smart TV - Emby Quote Users in the USA, UK, and Ireland can install Emby in Samsung App Store. Users outside the USA, UK and Ireland can Install from USB. No, anything installed via USB will always expire, that’s a Samsung policy enforced by Samsung when their tool packages the installer

ryderjj89 33 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 While it's not the very latest, the app on the TV finally updated on its own to a newer one that includes some of the features that have been missing. It's a 1.6.x version that's on there now. The USB install works but hitting that 30 days at the most inconvenient time (in bed ready to watch a movie/show) sucks lol. 1 1

afogleson 15 Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 So basically what i am getting is that in the "worst case scenario" I just put a vpn connection on my router to the USA, install the app (in the philippines) and then i should be golden? Or do i have to ALWAYS be connected to the USA vpn? it seems silly since I would be serving content locally.... this is really for just 1 TV since the other one has my Nvidea Shield device on it with all the other apps on it too already. Just getting ready since in about a month i will have to do all this for.... shall we say less technically oriented resources

I could be mistaken but I don’t think this is something you can change on the fly. I think it’s all decided when you first setup the TV so you’d have to factory reset it and then choose a different country.

Im not physically there so worst case scenario i just reset that tv and set it to usa store. which is not a big deal or just buy another nvidea shield (or roku) device and set that up before i go there. I'll ask my significant other to check since she is there. 1
