Hi

I love the function. But I can't seem to get Emby server/app to save my delay. So if I stop the movie and continue watching, the delay os reset to 0.

I often buy blu rays from other countries and they rarely have my language sub on the disc. So I am forced to download an srt version which sometimes is not the exact version of movie. Sometimes other intros are made so the sub is out of sync by up to plus/minus 20 seconds.

Does anyone know if it is possible to save the delay time? Server side on specific sub would be preferred as then it is a onetime thing.

Thanks for a good product

AFAIK no offset saving implemented yet - tbh don't know is it even on to-do list.

So currently PGS subs are broken and if we do the 'fix' of downloading srt subs, they won't necessarily match up and we can't even set a permanent offset to fix it? Great...

We plan to save the audio delay in future updates. Thanks for the feedback.

Awesome. Thanks @Luke

And I am replacing all words of audio with subtitles. Just to try and make sense of what you said 😂

@LukeExactly where is subtitle delay setting? I have looked everywhere I can think of in both Android TV and Android app, both running on Google ChromecastHD dongle, and can't find where to set delay for subitles.

In the OSD Subtitles menu during playback.

Ah, I see the problem - my ignorance: I was looking for adjustable offset for SUBRIP subtitles but it only works for SRT. My ignorance. Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, in AndroidTV app it works with external srt subs only. Universal Android app works for both internal and external subs.

I'm afraid that's not what I'm seeing. When I go into Android 3.5.34, also running on Google Chromecast HD dongle, there is no subtitle offset adjustment for subrip subtitles:

Neither do I with the latest version. Web app still shows it, though. Maybe @Lukecan offer some insight.

@LukeAny word on fixing this apparent regression?

Yes, it's now up to version 3.5.36, and the problem continues.

Slightly off-topic, but now I am having a hard time just showing one set of subtitles. They are showing up as doubles, even triples - where there are 3 sets of subtitles running across the screen at the same time, blocking most of the screen. Sometimes it fixes it when I just turn them on and off a few times, or try another file. It is happening enough now to really be annoying. I'm using the Samsung Emby app primarily, but it happens on FireStick too.

You're saying it's not in the menu?

Yes @Luke- look up thread for an actual photograph of what appears on screen, same in most recently updated version 3.5.36. How could you be seeing something different? I just downloaded and now updated the app fom the Google store accessible through my Google Chromecast HD dongle, connected via HDMI to my TV. What isn't clear, or what isn't appearing properly, at your end or mine? @GrimReaperreports the same thing.

OK so you're casting to chromecast?

No, as was stated upthread by both me and @GrimReaper  this is about how both the Emby Android TV app as well as the basic Emby android app, both running on the Chromecast HDTV dongle and downloaded from the Google Play store via the TV/Chromecast HDTV dongle interface, are not showing subtitle delay options for SRT nor for SUBS:

You posted that a minor update was made to the basic Android app - from 3.5.34 to 3.5.36 - to address subtitle problems, but we're reporting that this particular regression/ problem still hasn't actually been fixed.

OK it's not enabled for embedded subrip at this time. Usually the tracks that are embedded into a video file are going to be synced.

According to @GrimReaperthat's a loss of prior functionality - sync timing of neither embedded nor external (SRT) subtitles can be adjusted now in the standard Android app.

Nope, that one was only referencing embedded subs: external subs offset is working/showing properly throughout both apps. AndroidTV app historically supported only those but IIRC standard Android app exhibited same behaviour as Web app did and still does, allowing for offset of both internal and external subs. But I might as well be remembering it incorrectly, hence it was redirected to Luke for further info.
