casminkey 15
Hello, I don't know if this is an Emby Theater problem or not but I have tried with other applications and can't get them to do the same thing. Everytime I turn on one of my TV's that I have Emby Theater running on, the window is shrunk to about 1/3rd of the screen (see below). I make sure that Windows isn't going into any sleep/hibernate mode, nor is my HDMI receiver that sits between my TV and media center PC. I haven't been able to nail down a time frame on when this changes but if I TeamViewer into this PC (keeping the TV off), i get this every time if it's been idle for an hour or two. I tested by closing ET and leaving up Chrome maximized. When I came back the following day, it was still full screen. I still am not sure it's actually Emby Theater doing this, but it's the only application effected. Anyone have any idea's?
Solution inzombyac 69 Posted January 12, 2017 Solution Share Posted January 12, 2017 Could it be the same issue as reported here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32747-emby-theater-window-size My solution is to have a dedicated ET button on my Harmony remote that kills the ET process and restart the program. Others seem to be able to get around this with the HDMI pin 19 trick (see link above) or a monitordetectkiller. I ordered the latter and hope it solves the issue for me.
casminkey 15
Many Thanks! It was so obscure that I didn't realize it was such a common problem in Windows 10. I programmed my MCE remote to have the green start button close and restart ET. It'll do for now
Marc_G 92
I have a similar thread where I described this problem. HDMI Detective Plus solved it for me. Tried the pin 19 tape trick without success before that. Got my detective used for half the cost of a new one. Works perfectly.

Guest asrequested
I wish Microsoft would give us a way to disable the display being turned off. This isn't just with Emby, it's any window you have open. But until then, my monitordetectkiller works perfectly. Marc_G 92
Oh come on. MS is omniscient with always the end user in mind. We should adapt to whatever they decide is best!

Crestj 67
For those with Harmony remotes, can you tell me how you programmed the remote for this? Did you chain an ALT+F4 and start of Emby (how?) I currently have Emby in the Taskbar and use START+1 to start it but maybe there's an easier way. I used an obscure sequence such as WIN+SHIFT+M mapped to a button from using the WMC SE profile and then an autohotkey script that will force close the app and restart. ;WIN+SHIFT+m - Emby $#+m:: Process, Close, Emby.Theater.exe ; Run this mulitple times to make sure it is dead Process, Close, electron.exe Process, Close, electron.exe Process, Close, electron.exe Process, Close, electron.exe Process, Close, electron.exe Process, Close, electron.exe ; Give it time to close fully Sleep, 3000 Run, C:\Users\DVR\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\Emby.Theater.exe return
