This appears to be a known Safari issue. Safari has so many locked in problems, that the last 3 companies I contracted with, who sold Internationally online, decided to no longer support the Safari browser at all. Any Safari errors, I was told to just ignore in bug reports. These companies had no interest in fixing the issue for Safari users. FYI I get the same error regularly as well, but everything works fine. I'm using the Emby app on a Philips TV natively. I've just assumed that it's down to the TV / Chromecast loading the Emby app just slightly faster than it connects to the WiFi, but by the time you try to select a library, or content, it's restored the connection and works okay again.

K, Sometimes the encoding of the file is not ANSI or has some non UTF8 characters that look fine when you open the file in whatever you use to view the file, but there are still problems with the space character and often some other apostrophy and quotes ' ". Try looking at the file in a proper text editor and not a word processor software, especially not the software used by Apple. It's possible the software you are using to look at the file doesn't show the problems and the space character look fine, but they are not. I attempted to do this last night, but even after enabling debug logs in the debug options I could not find anywhere that said "send log" could you double check that it's possible and/or give me some visuals as to where I can find the "send log" option? EDIT: Nevermind. Something happened over the night such that the option now appears. I just sent the log after reproducing the issue on an episode of Kimmy Schmidt

Hi. That is how the shuffle feature is designed. It shuffles the actual media, not the containers.

Pleased to report that turning off "Direct Play Live TV" in the client settings appears to have resolved this issue. I'll report back if that doesn't hold up.

Just to add, when I connect locally to the HTTPS port, it seems to work fine. Obviously the cert doesn't match the address, but it does send data. Dec

Hi there, I'm trying to enable HTTPS on Emby 4.8.5.0 on Synology DSM 7.2.1. I've set the network configuration on Emby to require a secure connect for remote clients. I've successfully added the SSL certificate. I have successfully tested the certificate with certutil. I've checked that the firewall is forwarding the correct ports and confirmed that they show as open. But when I try to open a remote connection with HTTPS I get this error: xxx.xxx.xxx didn't send any data ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE I don't see any related errors in the Emby logs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dec

I rotated the log files and then did a bunch of testing, so in embyserver(1).txt, everything attempted by the Roku device failed to play. For specific example, all of the Brooklyn nine nine episodes I believe everything in embyserver.txt attempted by the Roku also failed, but I'm not sure what date/time it starts so it could have extended back to, earlier in the week whrn things worked.

I would like to add to this request. Is there a way for Emby to only put an extra in the following way with an episode: "Audio Commentary" or "Deleted Scene" instead of the current way of "Seinfeld.S01.E01-Pilot-Audio Commentary-Featurette" The shorter phrasing just looks better and gives better view. In Plex, they do it that way where it only picks up the "Audio Commentary-Featurette" part of it. I have noticed you can edit the metadata, but I would prefer it does it automatically.

Could you run the scheduled task again and see if that fixes it.

The random album feature doesn't seem to work properly. Consider an artist with two albums A and B When emby chooses this artist, instead of choosing to play A or B, it instead plays both A and B with the tracks randomized This happens from the music library in the Albums tab Example from Emby I've attached an example screen shot where you can see multiple album covers in the play list. The playlist was generated from the shuffle button while on the Albums tab

Hi I have my moves showing their run times when I browse my movies, but when in collections their run times are not shown. Any chance that this can be corrected please. I know that this as been mentioned before. Thanks

What type of internet service are you on? Is it wireless?

Transcoding isn't always necessary and if you're the person preloading the media for your mom then pre-convert it to a format that Roku can direct play/stream.

I have been trying to figure out why my server wasn't accessible externally, and during the process, found that the emby connect log in didn't work anymore either, so I was trying to figure THAT out, and when I looked at the users, the Emby connect account wasn't shown in my user profile. So, I went to add that, and get an error that says "The Emby Connect user is already linked to another user on this server", however, I don't HAVE any other users, so I'm very confused. So first question: Can I find what account on the server my emby connect account is associated with, and then second (may need to open a new thread for this) can someone please help me figure out why external access, including Emby Connect stopped working? As far as I can recall, I haven't made any changes to the server between when it did it work and when it stopped, but maybe a Windows update broke something. I could always reinstall the server software but every time I do, I have to spend days fixing movie/TV/album labels.

That concerns me because IT history is full of companies or projects that suddenly died or got sold at a commercial company because the owner(s) of it decided he wanted to get max of money of it ! I don't say it'll happen at Emby but risk is far of insignifiant all the more without knowing who are the owners

@Luke- Hi - so are we any closer to Home Screen Smart rows/libraries/channels - based on smartlists ? I halted my own efforts to get this 'working' (hacked) but stopped as you advised it was something you were hopefully working on back in August of last year post the 4.8 release... Its now 9 months later - 4.8 has been and gone - Is it even on the cards ? If not, then I'll carry on with my own 'hack' (and now wish I had just carried on with it..) as my own users are now fed up waiting for this essential missing feature ...

Frame dropping occurs no matter what selections I make for renderer and acceleration. Could the graphics card be an issue? It started to do this completely out of the blue. What’s the solution if hardware acceleration is failing?
