above1 42 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I believe a nice added feature is to have the ability to timeout partially watched shows automatically. Being able to set an expiration of resume point on titles. My kids love to watch videos but never seem to finish then, so they have a ton of titles that have resume points. What would be a nice addon would be the ability to either set the resume point to expire after X number of days. By default the resume point will be kept indefinitely. Adding in, let's say, "30" will then set all the resume points last set 30 days ago to expire and the resume point data be removed from the title for the user. This should be a global setting that applies to all users in the system. Wording of the feature can be different. Thanks, \ above1 26 1
Beardyname 197 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I think this is a great idea! +1 For now i you want to clear the playback status toggle the watched/unwatched flags once and they should be removed
ginjaninja 570 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 +1 if I havent resumed within a period..im not going to...
puithove 209 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I like this idea. I've always managed them manually. It'd be best if it doesn't modify the watched status and just removes the resume point. Meaning if the item was previously watched but in progress, leave it watched. If it was previously unwatched but in progress, leave it unwatched. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
ozrex 0 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 +1 Anyone with kids will want this one. Resume selection is filled with half watched movies.
ebr 15433 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Personally, I think anything like this should be handled at the display layer instead of modifying the data. The resume point should stay there because it is accurate and it should be available whenever (perhaps you have an item that you always watch from a specific point or something). At the display (app or query) level, however, there could potentially be an option to limit the items shown in the "Continue Watching" section by some sort of time parameter. 4
toffee_123 2 Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 In Plex, there is a setting that is equivalent to "Weeks to consider for Continue Watching". This filters the items in Continue Watching by whether the most recent play date was within the specified time limit (e.g. previous 4 weeks). This would be useful to avoid the Continue Watching bar being cluttered with partially watched items from a long time ago. Please could you add this setting to Emby? 1
Luke 38823 Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 HI, yes given enough demand, more options are certainly possible for the future. Thanks for the feedback. 2
bjerne 7 Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 (edited) Has there been any progress made in this area? I have a related request to simply be able to manually clear the resume point from a movie without having to set it to "watched" then clearing the watched status. The latter (current) approach is problematic because it will trigger the movie as watched in Trakt, forcing me to remember to mark the movie unwatched there, too. Please let me know if I should start a separate request for this. Edited July 29, 2024 by bjerne Forgot a question
