I have no issue with the inboard eth or WiFi on the tv. Even 4k Blu-ray with dv aren't over 100mbps data. I weirdly see my eth port as 1gb in my switch and not 100mbps. But I never did a speed test on the tv to see. I don't know the WiFi specs on the tv either. I k ow I can reach over 700mbps on my WiFi easily with devices but that doesn't mean the tv can do it.

Still, I'm not buying an nvidia shield. I have everything directly in the tv and since other product like plex and jellyfin can do it, emby should also do it for sake of keeping up with competition.

With stuff like DV support on LG for mkv containers and H265 transcoding i'm just a good Samsung client away from installing Jellyfin on my server.

It's not meant to be rude towards Emby, i really like Emby, but in the end i need/want what fits my use case best.
I will never, ever, no way, no how, not in a million years install Plex.Their advertisement and data harvesting is not something i want!

About network in TVs.
Most TVs actually support getting a USB network dongle. I'm using on my self and it has always worked without problems.
Just remember to google if your specific TV supports it before buying one.

Many are, especially peak bitrates.   Remember as an example an 85Mbit 'bitrate' 4K Remux mean it's average bitrate is 85 - it's peak may be well over 100.

Ah maybe they have finally decided to use 1Gig - if your switch says is 1Gig, then it likely is ;), happy to stand corrected on that.

This could be how your media is, but I have absolutely run into media that caused 'buffering' due to limited bandwidth on both wireless and wired on my LG G3.

I was in your boat and absolutely didn't want to do anything outside the LG TV. The closest I got was looking into remuxing content on the fly, but I ended up wanting Shield for some additional benefits in the end.

That said, if the on-the-fly remuxing gets added to Emby, I would be very happy as well.

Biffering can be caused by multiple factor. Remuxing is one, transcoding is another. I had it when my server is too busy and can't keep up. Otherwise, just direct play, never saw it. Weird.

Remember to give the OP a like if you want the feature, the developers use the amount of likes as a measure of how popular a feature request is and in what order to implement it (as i understand it).
