[Samsung Smart TV] Playback does not start

Hello,

 

First of all, I have to say, I am a great fan of your work. I have been running an Emby server for over 5 years now. I recently bought a new Samsung Smart TV and installed the Emby app onto it using the USB installation procedure. I am successfully able to connect to my Emby server and browse my media without issues. However, when I try to play some media it starts loading and get's stuck. The app get's stuck on the turning circle annimation screen. At this point I am also not able to 'go back' to the previous view.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue?

Server/Network setup: The server is running on an Ubuntu Server Distro behind an Nginx Proxy. The Proxy exposes the server over the internet using a Let's Encrypt certificate (port 443) and forwards the traffic in my internal network over http on the default port (8096).

System versions: Emby Server 4.5.2.0, Samsung Smart TV QE55Q80TALXXN, Samsung firmware version 1403, Emby For Samsung App 1.0.86

Media Playback information: For the specific log segment trial, but issue is encountered on every media file.

Emby Server Logs: Starting from the moment I press the 'OK' button on my tv-remote to start a playback.

Yea the problem is Samsung has very specific SSL support. And look at the statement you made about our app despite the fact that this is something we have no control over.
