Removing item from playlist does not update playlist view

The playlist view/UI of the Android Mobile app is not updated when a non-playing item is selected to be removed.  While the backing list seems to be updated correctly, the view does not show any change until the "current" item is advanced.  Clicking the same "Remove" circle multiple times does not seem to negatively affect the backing list (besides updating the backing list as expected).

This issue has been present in many versions, but the version which introduced the issue is currently unknown.

 

Examples:

1. The user clicks the "Remove" circle on the currently playing item. The item is removed from the UI and the next expected item begins to play. (working as expected)
2. A play queue contains 4 songs (with IDs 1 through 4). While the second song (ID:2) is selected, but paused (not playing), the user clicks the "Remove" circle on the second song (ID:2). The UI is not yet updated.
       a. If the user then clicks the "Play" arrow the third song (ID:3) plays and the UI is updated.
       b. If the user then clicks the "Next Item" arrow the forth song (ID:4) is selected and the UI is updated.
3. A play queue contains 6 songs (with IDs 1 through 6). While listening to the second song (ID:2), the user clicks the "Remove" circle on the third and fourth song (ID:3 and ID:4 respectfully). The UI is not updated (both songs appear to remain in the play queue).
   Then when the current song concludes (or the user clicks the "Next Item" arrow) the next song to play is song with ID:5 and the third and fourth songs are removed from the play queue.
