Other than backspacing over it, I'm not sure and not sure if that even works.  On anything with a keyboard, I use ctrl-Z.

Doesn't work.
What's missing is a button for a "code editor", so one can see the code behind quotes, links and the like as cleartext.

That exists in the desktop theme - it is the "Source" button on the editor.  There is only so much that can be done on a phone though I guess.

Had the same issues on my phone as well.

Only way I found to remove it, was to go BACK, start again and use the CLEAR EDITOR when you redo your post.

Thanks Abo, although it's not just simple HTML any more, but based on HTML5.

Might be useful though.

Any chance of adding the "code" option as well please?. I've tried to use it as before, but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

Looks like the SOURCE option is now gone with the addition of the CODE button.

Tried that.

Logged out of the website and force stopped Chrome browser but still no different.

Perhaps @pünktchen can try.

I also only see the "code" button before the "bold" button. No "source" button here.

Fine, thanks. Although i didn't have thought there's such a complex code behind a quote.

That's better, thanks Abo.

Might it be worth having these options available to the desktop version as well?

Me neither.

They are both already there.

any way to get the "mark site read" link pop to the top of the main home page?  2-3 clicks vs the old 1 is pretty annoying.

Desktop or mobile?

In desktop, it's on the top page.

In mobile, it on the same main menu.

I am confuse here about your request.

I think @mastrmind11 just wants it visible, rather than having to go through the menu.

the old forum, when you clicked "mark site read", it would take you back to the main forum page and position you at the top of the page.  on the new forum, when you click "mark site read", you just sit on the same page and position and have to scroll up to the top and click "home" to have the same effect, which is 2 more actions than previously.

There is for me...

However, I don't think this is really necessary and probably will lead to people screwing up their posts.

And there isn't for me:

I like to have it to un-screw-up posts when the editor gets in a mess (which it can, you know!).
