ginjaninja 538
Version 3.0.5320.22231 descriptions related to dashboard ui. after deletion of cache and ibn\artists and library.db. MB3 continues to create multiple artists in IBN for the same content..or so it seems (when looking at the content pertaining to each multiple instance) so... the two artist objects have their own ibn folders but have the same name in the 'name' field in dashboard. eg ibn\artists\Gabriel Fauré and ibn\artists\Fauré turns out that the collection contains artist id3 tags both 'Gabriel Fauré' and other tracks 'Fauré', but because they (presumably) resolve to the same musicbrainz id... when clicking on either artist object in the dashboard you are only shown the content for the one amalgamated artist trouble is in this example, the content for id3 tag 'Fauré' shows as belonging to artist named/hyperlink 'Fauré', but when you click on 'Fauré' you are taken to Gabriel Fauré and the content yielded by id3 tag 'Fauré' does not show up. So at one level mb3 has linked artists but not when showing the tracks belonging to the linked artist. There are advantages of MB3 amalgamating artists, of course the content needs to show for both. Better yet, MB3 would show you when it has linked content so you can decide a) if mb3 was correct to have linked and b ) do you want to tidy up your metadata. in the current design, mb3 is helping to bring content for id3tags representing the same artist together, but the user cant see all the content when viewed through the artist object. will continue to check if this can account for all instances when there are multiple artists in dashboard, seemingly for the same content.
