Improve Performance on FreeNAS plugin?

Currently I have my Emby temp folder for cache files on the same Pool that the Emby Plugin is installed on along with where the media / movies are stored.

Would I see any performance increase if I pointed that temp cache folder to a dedicated drive?
My thought was that I'm already reading the data from the Pool and writing it back to the same hard disks is creating some delays in transcoding.

But maybe not, just curious. Trying to get as much performance for streaming movies as possible without adding a GPU.

Hi, the main question would be which is the faster drive? That will answer the question.

Drives are the same speed.

What about adding a Cache drive to the Pool?

I see the ZFS Cache filling up completely while streaming a movie.

In FreeNAS you'll get more of a performance increase by increasing ram rather than cache since the ZFS file system will automatically use ram as cache. Even the fastest of SSD drives will be slower than ram.

Using a newer version of the mono runtime may also help:
