I haven't discovered any way to modify the chapter thumbs created by the MB3 server. I do notice though that sometimes the chapter thumbs are not very nice. Sometimes it catches a screen transition and the thumb is just all black.

I'd like suggest some options:

- Provide some image scanning capability built in to the server that is able to inspect the generated thumbnail and recreate it with a different time offset if it is identified as all black, all white, and so on.

- Allow an interface for the user to scan through the file and generate/select the thumb manually.

It already does the first one. It generates images at 30 frames and the encoder automatically picks the best one. that number can be increased, but it substantially increases the cpu requirement and amount of time required.

What happened to the configuration for chapters?

I'm pretty sure we could set the interval to be different based on video length - so for example TV shows could be every five minutes, and movies could be every 10.

there was never any such config. go back and read all the old threads if you wish. unless there's overwhelming support for more options, just enjoy what's there. it will be ok :)
