FireTV multiple servers issues

I set up a second server and I started testing it with a couple firetvs and a firestick. Upon switching back I can no longer get it to connect to the original server, grunkle.  When any of the three choices are selected, the circle spins forever. This only happens with the firetvs. Appletv, theater and Android apps all can switch back and forth fine. I have cleared the cache, deleted data, uninstalled and reinstalled and I always get back to this screen and no further.

I have this issue on all 3 firetvs/firesticks.

Remove it and add it back.

By any chance did the servers have the same name?

I click remove and nothing happens.  The circle just spins forever.

The servers have different names and currently emby is only running on Grunkle, which is the original server.

Remote or local?  Is the appropriate address shown on the dashboard correct?  Have you tried manually typing in the address?

Local and hard wired.  I can't even enter an address as I'm never given an opportunity.  The on screen buttons all do nothing except cause the loading circle to keep spinning.  It seems like the app tries to automatically find the server, fails on the connection and then gets stuck in the loop.  The IP address of the FireTV shows up nowhere in the server logs.  It's almost like it finds the name of the server and then doesn't resolve it correctly and the connection doesn't complete.

Here's another oddity.  A Firestick that was never tested against the second server still functions normally.

If you clear data on the app you will have the opportunity to enter a manual address.  It will also clear out any old remembered servers.

But this question is also key:

I don't have the opportunity after deleting data in the app.  It still tries to hit the same server, and fails, even after deleting data, uninstalling the app, powering off the FireTv, reinstalling. I still end up on the same screen above.

The address shown on the dashboard is correct and is what is being used on the AppleTv, android and iPhone apps.

Settings> Applications > manage installed applications> emby > clear cache, delete data

From memory, so the syntax may be a bit off

You are 100% sure of that?

If so, then could you have some software on your network blocking the Fires?  We had a relatively recent report just like this and it turned out to be some sort of security software blocking all the Fire TVs.

100% sure.  It's a static IP for the server as well.

No security software installed.  There's still the one firestick working fine since it was never tested against the new (currently disabled) server .

Regardless of sever @ebr what would keep him from being able to remove the server on the Android client?

No clue...

Also, not sure how it could be hanging up in any kind of auto login if the app data is actually cleared.

Did you force close the app before doing this?

I've never seen it before when you can't remove a server.

Are you logging in directly to the server or using Emby Connect?

Can you try the opposite and let us know what that does?

I can't get to a screen that even allows for this. Is there anything that I can hold down to force a cancel or settings screen?

Try this for me.

Remove power for 5 to 10 seconds then plug back in.

Immediately clear the data for the app as you did previously and try again.

I did that one last night.

I tried a couple of permutations of that.

Unplug, power on, uninstall, unplug, plus, install

Unplug, plug, delete data, unplug, plug, start

Same result. Still tries and fails to hit the existing server.

Well I was thinking first to just uninstall the Emby app, then install it back.

The only thing left after that would likely be a factory reset.

That I've done a few times. The factory reset is my last ditch effort if there are no other suggestions here

I'm out of ideas, since what you're seeing shouldn't be happening.
