Which performance is better?

Hello,

 

i moved my emby server to mac-mini server.

 

Now I have to 2 options upon creating liberaries:

 

1. Option "One Liberary": Create one liberary for all my videos (400000+)

 

2. Option "Many liberaries": creating many liberaries for my videos. If this option is the better performance, then how many videos should a liberary optimally contain?

Behind the scenes, emby uses a single database regardless of the number of logical 'libraries' you have.  It will make sense however to split into libraries where you can - as then you can do administartion on a particular library without impacting the others.

 

I hope the mac has a decent ssd for the database, as without it, performance is going to be slow with that many files to index.
