wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I moved two mp4 files into my movies library. After that I scan the library. But these movies do not show up in emby. How can I debug this? -rw-rw-rw- 1 emby emby 2977939112 17. Mai 13:15 St*.mp4 -rw-rw-rw- 1 emby emby 3531901843 10. Mai 16:27 Fo*.mp4 Thanks, Wolfgang
mastrmind11 722 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 check the log for errors. are those the actual filenames?
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 This is how the files are called along with their size, permissions and owners -rw-rw-rw- 1 emby emby 2977939112 17. wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 In movies library in emby like all other movies I uploaded to my server. Wolfgang
Happy2Play 9446 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Does it appear if you used the search function? But may need to see the full server log to see if it is mis-identified.
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 I tried this too. Non of the two movies appears when searching. I search bu name and actor. Wolfgang
Luke 40114 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Have you looked through your movies to see if it may have been mis-detected as something else?
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 I just reviewed my movies library in Emby searching the two movies. they are not to be found. I checked movie by movie, searched by name, actor name checked in genres. regards, Wolfgang
Happy2Play 9446 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Can you provide the server log for when they were imported.
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 19, 2020 Author Posted May 19, 2020 That is what I did: 1) I moved the the movies into another directory 2) I re-scanned the libraries 3) I moved the movies back into the directory 4) I re-scanned the library. These are the files -rw-rw-rw- 1 emby emby 3,3G 10. Mai 16:27 Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994).mp4 -rw-rw-rw- 1 emby emby 2,8G 17. Mai 13:15 Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017).mp4 Attached the log. Thanks, Wolfgang emby.txt
Luke 40114 Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Have you looked through your movies to see if it may have been mis-detected as something else? If this happens you wouldn't be able to search by name, you'd just have to eyeball your movie library. Have you tried that?
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 21, 2020 Author Posted May 21, 2020 I checked metadata of each individual file manually. Click on movie Edit Metadata. The movies are not to be found Wolfgang
Luke 40114 Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 Can you show the complete folder structure so that we can see the file naming and organization? Thanks.
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 22, 2020 Author Posted May 22, 2020 Attached content of /home/media/movies files.txt
Luke 40114 Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I would compare the permissions of the files to our file permissions guide: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32218-file-permissions-guide-for-new-linux-users/?view=getnewpost Please see if that helps. Thanks.
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 23, 2020 Author Posted May 23, 2020 Hi Luke, I set chmod 666 and chown emby:emby. Unfortunately same result. Wolfgang
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 28, 2020 Author Posted May 28, 2020 (edited) The problem was persisting. Then I just tried something; I created a new directory and moved the two files into that directory and added the library to emby. And now emby sees the movies. The inconvenience is that I have now two Movies Libraries... I just would like to know why. Any thoughts? Wolfgang Edited May 28, 2020 by wp.rauchholz
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted May 29, 2020 Author Posted May 29, 2020 Exactly the same permissions for directories and file in both cases (emby:emby & 666 for files). The only difference I can notice is a dot behind the permission: drwxr-xr-x. 3 emby emby 86016 29. Mai 02:59 movies drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 29. Mai 03:01 movies1 Wolfgang

Pyro2577 0 Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) I am having the same issue just noticed it tonight when i added some movies tonight: I have NFS shares for Movies Tv Shows Music Music Videos All shares were working except for the movies folder. I moved a movie from the movie folder to all the others and when i hit scan library it would show up in those other folders and can watch them through Emby. It's only the movie Library that doesn't scan properly, I have all the same permissions as all the other folders in the NFS showing and when i add library all the folders are accessible however it just does not scan the folder. Before i removed and tried to add the Movie library again. movies would play no problems, i removed the movie library now, when i add it again it is blank with no movies. Not sure when this started to happen but nothing was changed except for Linux updates and also Emby updates. 2020-05-30 19:57:43.760 Error HttpServer: Error processing request *** Error Report *** Version: 4.5.0.12 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Unix 4.19.0.9 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Runtime: file:///opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll System.Environment.Version: 3.1.2 Processor count: 6 Program data path: /var/lib/emby Application directory: /opt/emby-server/system System.NullReferenceException: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Emby.Server.Implementations.IO.SharpCifsFileSystem.IsEnabledForPath(String path) at Emby.Server.Implementations.IO.ManagedFileSystem.GetFileStream(String path, FileOpenMode mode, FileAccessMode access, FileShareMode share, Boolean isAsync) at MediaBrowser.Providers.Manager.ProviderManager.SaveImage(BaseItem item, String source, ReadOnlyMemory`1 mimeType, ImageType type, Nullable`1 imageIndex, Nullable`1 saveLocallyWithMedia, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Library.LibraryManager.GetLazyImage(String key, BaseItem item, ImageType type, Int32 imageIndex, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Library.LibraryManager.ConvertImageToLocal(BaseItem item, ItemImageInfo image, Int32 imageIndex, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Drawing.ImageProcessor.ProcessImage(ImageProcessingOptions options, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at MediaBrowser.Api.Images.ImageService.GetImage(ImageRequest request, Int64 itemId, BaseItem item, Boolean isHeadRequest) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Services.ServiceController.GetTaskResult(Task task) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Services.ServiceHandler.ProcessRequestAsync(HttpListenerHost appHost, IRequest httpReq, IResponse httpRes, RestPath restPath, String responseContentType, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.HttpListenerHost.RequestHandler(IRequest httpReq, ReadOnlyMemory`1 urlString, ReadOnlyMemory`1 localPath, CancellationToken cancellationToken) Source: Emby.Server.Implementations TargetSite: Boolean IsEnabledForPath(System.String) Auto Organize: Works by moving from my Qbit Folder into the Movies folder. NFS is @ /mnt/nfs/ when opening /mnt/nfs all files and folders show up. Inside Emby Movies are located at /mnt/nfs/Movies With folders in each A-Z. Music is /mnt/nfs/Music Tv Shows it /mnt/nf/Tv Permissions on every folder and file in the /mnt/nfs are ****:users - 0770 (-rwxrwx---) as above these permissions worked find always and also Emby/Radarr/Qbit and plugins all can read and write to the folders. it is only the movies folder that Emby does not scan. Hope it is an easy fix. Ok i Just created a Samba Share just for Movies and now they are scanning. The NFS shares are on a Qnap NAS and nothing has been changed on the NAS with file permissions etc. I have checked and all permissions are the same for all Folders inside Multimedia (which music,Tv, Movies etc are all stored) Edited May 30, 2020 by Pyro2577
Pyro2577 0 Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 (edited) FIXED--- 2 Fixes Samba was my workaround until i found out what was stopping NFS on mine. I have a QNAP and the thumbnail generation put folder .@__thumb inside every folder that had movies or pictures in it. Turned off Thumbnail generation in File Station and Media Console, then i SSH into Qnap and ran [~] # find / -name ".@__thumb" -exec rm -r -f '{}' \; This removed all the folders and NFS is back working again. Not sure if you are having the same issue but this was my fix. I did read after every firmware update for Qnap you have to turn it off but i will see when i have to update.
