thefirstofthe300 291
I have the complete series of BSG (2003, not 1979) and I use the trakt.tv plugin. I am having a problem with Trakt picking up on the wrong TV series. I have the files named as Battlestar Galactica - S00E00 - Title.ext and would like to keep it this way. I would also like to be able to keep the name of the series in MB to be Battlestar Galactica with no trailing parenthesis if at all possible. My collection on Trakt thinks that I have the 1979 version instead of the 2003 reboot. Is there any way to fix this?
Luke 37064
well it's almost certainly not a trakt issue but rather metadata. all the trakt plugin is doing is relaying information about your library. so what you probably want to do is look at the tv series in the web interface and make sure it has been identified correctly. I suppose I should have stated that the entire TV show has been correctly identified by MB3's server so I would think that Trakt would be able to pick up on it. I wonder why it hasn't? Redshirt 1487
I'm surprised this is happening. I send the tvdb id and imdb id to trakt as well. So even if the name isn't accurate the id's are. When you first added the show to MB did it mis-identify it requiring you to change it in the metadata editor? Just thinking maybe the wrong id is still attached. I am doing a complete rebuild of the database because I was having major problems with getting the BSG episode metadata correct.
Luke 37064
you don't need a database rebuild. the series edit page has a friendly way for you to do this. just click the identify button, find the right series, and click on it. it will then go and replace series metadata, seasons, episodes, etc.

Anyway, the database rebuild is done (I don't have a huge library) and everything is kosher now.
