[REQ] - [Plugin] - Audiobook metadata

Hi,

 

The metadata lookup for audio books is not that great.. I did a little googling and found that someone has written one for plex: https://github.com/macr0dev/Audiobooks.bundle

 

Was just wondering if someone who knew what they were doing could port this or write something similar for audiobooks?

Hi there, yes we plan to expand on audio books internet metadata features in future updates. thanks for the feedback.

Have you checked open library as a metadata source for audio books?  They offer web APIs and also monthly data dumps.  Their images aren't the best, but they do at least have jpg/png and all the information for the books themselves.  I'm not sure about readers for audio books specifically.  However, getting the book information from there should work fine.

HI, yes we'll take a look at OpenLibrary and see if that's something we can use. Thanks.

There is now an OpenLibrary plugin in the Emby Plugin catalog for books, and it supports ISBN lookup.
