mpb2000 4 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Is there any way to renew the thumbnails for a Movie Libary?
chef 3808 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Hi mpb2000, I think there is a scheduled task for that under the 'Library' heading. Let me know if that does what you expect.a 1

chef 3808 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Hi chef, I tried it but, it only extracts thumbnails from movies it hasn't extracted yet. I need to "refresh" the thumbnails. What happens if you choose the item and select the refresh metadata. There is a checkbox that says replace images. This might be primary, backdrop etc, but it might also refresh the thumbnails as well.
mpb2000 4 Posted April 11, 2020 Author Posted April 11, 2020 No doesn't work, just refreshes images from posers, etc..
Luke 40104 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 You have to delete the existing ones first. We currently don't offer a way to do this for you.
Happy2Play 9445 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Is there a reason one would do this on an entire library? I can see individual items but never a entire library. I have done this on a item level removing bif from media folder, but had to remove and re-add item to library.
crusher11 978 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Yeah the only way I've found to do this is add an ignore file, scan, delete it, and scan again. Which is a bit of a pain.
mpb2000 4 Posted April 12, 2020 Author Posted April 12, 2020 OK, thank you so far. I need this because most of the thumbnails are stretched out, but this should be fixed with the update to 4.4. Just for my understanding, how can I delete existing thumbnails for a hole Library at once.
Solution neik 870 Posted April 12, 2020 Solution Posted April 12, 2020 Afaik Emby does not offer that, so you would need to delete all .bif files in the Emby folder manually or use a script that search and deletes them. 2
Happy2Play 9445 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Not sure if it is a timing thing or what as viewing the network folder for the items I deleted the bif files from and scanning and refreshing were not showing the bif files being recreated, the there logs did. I checked the folder again the next date and the bif files were there. So I would say I am seeing a delay viewing this remote share (Windows 10 defect), will have to check locally next time.
